FBI Director has a nominal ten-year term. Similar to Fed Reserve Chairman, who also serves a fixed term of years. They aren’t routinely asked to resign for a new president like other political appointees, but they can be fired or asked to resign for ‘cause’.
In any case, now would not be a good time for Boobamba to come back to Washington. Better stay in Tahiti for a few more months. Hahaha...
