According to Prince Charles: The Passions and Paradoxes of an Improbable Life, a new biography of the Prince of Wales by royal writer Sally Bedell Smith, Charles felt pressured into his marriage to Diana — and he was still torn abut his love for the then-married Camilla.

Diana’s squeeze or Camilia’s tampon? Tough call.
Years ago, I hosted an exchange student from England. His family knew Diana’s tutor quite well, who said that from an early age from around 12 , Diana set her sights on Charles b/c of her own ambition to gain fame. I’ve never thought she was all that. In fact, I’ve always thought the love story of Charles and Camilla is much more fascinating even though Charles is rather creepy and stupid. He certainly ain’t the prince fairy tales are made of.
Well, he is if he starts out as a frog.
What a horrible thing to say out loud where Diana’s children can hear. Some feelings are better taken to the grave unsaid. Charles should have remained a bachelor but the least he should do is abdicate his throne to William immediately upon the death of the Queen. Such a scoundrel.

Yes, I’ve heard that is why the Queen considered Diana the perfect match for Charles. Even Camilla encouraged him to marry Diana, specifically for her royal bloodline.
I’ve seen the video of Charles and Diana before the marriage when a reporter asks them if they were in love or something like that. Diana smiled shyly and answered “Of course”. Charles’ answer wasn’t so enthusiastic. Diana’s smile visibly faded.
I have also heard that Diana found out about Charles and Camilla’s affair the day before the wedding. She considered calling it off but her family pressured her into going through with it. I believe she was only 20 years old, so I can see how she would be easily manipulated. Also, for some reason, she loved Charles.
From what I understand, her family was as dysfunctional as they come. Her parents had a nasty divorce and her Mother practically abandoned her. Her Father didn’t really have much time for her and she was raised by nannies and boarding schools.
I believe that is why she had such empathy for poor, suffering people.
Looking back, it’s easy to see that marriage was doomed from the start.

He’s a pathetic sissy. What kind of man (1) marries someone he doesn’t want to marry, (2) cries about getting married, and (3) cheats on his wife after getting married? Even ignoring the fact that Diana was beautiful and charming, while whatever charms Camilla may have are always well hidden from the public, his behavior was worthy of a snowflake decades before being a wimp was in style.
