President Donald Trump on Monday accused Democrats of making up allegations that Russia interfered in last year's election, and said Congress and the FBI should be going after media leaks instead.
His tweets came just hours before a potentially politically damaging hearing in which FBI Director James Comey and National Security Agency Director Michael Rogers planned to testify on allegations of Russian hacking and whether there were any connections between Moscow and Trump's campaign.
"The Democrats made up and pushed the Russian story as an excuse for running a terrible campaign. Big advantage in Electoral College & lost!" Trump tweeted early Monday, as news coverage on the Russia allegations dominated the morning's cable news.
"The real story that Congress, the FBI and others should be looking into is the leaking of Classified information. Must find leaker now!"
Monday's hearing before the House Intelligence Committee, one of several congressional panels probing allegations of Russian meddling, could allow for the greatest public accounting to date of investigations that have shadowed the Trump administration in its first two months.

The proven past standard operating procedure is whatever the Democrats point the finger of evil at Republicans, this is precisely the evil thing they are already doing.
Democrats are so intensely pathological it is difficult to understand their motivation with any real clarity.
We know that democrats consistently accuse republicans of the very crimes they themselves are committing. Whether this is because they are distracting from the truth or because they are not self-aware enough to see their own perfidy is unclear. In the case of Pelosi, it is almost certainly the latter. In the case of Schumer, it is much more likely the former.
What we know with certainty is liberalism is a mental illness.
I hope someone mentions during the hearings that in 2016 the Podesta Group, run by Tony Podesta, brother of Hillary campaign chairman John Podesta, was hired as a lobbyist by Russian banks, and that their primary purpose was to have sanctions against Russia removed. This is not illegal, but it is certainly a much closer contact with “Russia” than anyone has found with regards to the Trump campaign.

Weeks or months before claiming the Russians hacked the election, the Democrats telegraphed their punch by claiming the Russians were likely to hack the election.
They probably hoped the Ruskies would take the hint, but in any case they were planning their attack in full public view in case the Russians fell through. Even the MSM dutifully reported the whole affair to try to make sure the idea was firmly planted in the collective American brain pan.
Any attempts to check that votes were counted accurately were met with the usual Democratic skepticism and claims of voter disfranchisement.
So the Russian ruse by the Dems/media should be over. Now they are back to demanding tax returns, ugh, like groundhog’s day.
