I’m deeply disappointd with Trump on this issue. He’s letting lower court judges run all over him when it is well within his authority to ignore their rulings and enforce his ban until the Supreme Court makes a ruling.
He and his Solicitor General must first make a formal appeal to the respective appellate divisions and requst a stay pending outcome of the appeal. Then, if they lose, the same appeal must be made to SCOTUS. he idea of doing a Jackson is fantasy. Jackson had the unwavering support of the Congress. Today the reaction would drive the media nuts and their demands for impeachment would be overwhelming for enough of the Congress to make impeachment likely and conviction probable.
I agree. When the judicial branch is able to illegally and unconstitutionally push the executive branch around then our republic is doomed. I’ve long advocated for the executive branch to ignore the judicial branch when it oversteps its boundaries. The legislative branch can intervene if it feels necessary to do so. The current situation is absolutely ridiculous and the courts need to be smacked down.
Me too! I just not disappointed I am discussed. Punk judges will violate law and make most of Trumps EO nullified and it will stick unless these judges are impeached. And the weak lazy Republicans would never start the impeachment.
