and speaking of health, healthcare, medical issues, costs....
What a great find, Dolly! Would that be McKeesport, PA?
Yes, how things have changed . . .
Hey Dolly!
Thanks for the good wishes.
Wow - that is some medical bill lol! Frankly, we should go back to the days when people dealt directly with their doctors/local hospitals. It’s this third party and government payments that has driven the health care through the roof.
Looking forward to tomorrow when more information about Obama’s spying practices will come to light. I’d love to see that guy nailed for his corruption.
Quite a change from what we paid, without insurance, long story, for our last child in ‘89, over $10,000 due to complications.
1943 "Average Cost of new house $3,600.00. Average wages per year $2,000.00. Cost of a gallon of Gas 15 cents. Average Cost for house rent $40.00 per month."
I checked out the 1940 census and it showed that my father made $300 for the year. (but he may not have been totally honest) I don't know how we could have ever lived on that.
That Hospital bill from 1943 was before medical lawsuits started in late 60’s. That was the beginning of the end of affordable care.
