Can’t go wrong for that price. After all, dog food and cat food costs more per pound.
Being in the middle of the Pig Belt ours are even less than that. Can always get fresh ground sausage at butcher shop at a good price. Very little fat and nicely spiced. Their bacon is extremely lean. The family who owns butcher shop has a cousin who runs a commercial pig farm. Their grow one breed just for family, friends and the shop. Many buy a whole hog and have it prepared by the butcher. Really good deal if you have a large family.
I got some chicken quarters yesterday for $1.48 pound and I am making dog food from them.
