To: Political Junkie Too

Some of the cable series are even worse. They will show 5 to 6 episodes, then have a 6 month break.

By the time the series returns, I forgot where it left off.

Then, there are shows like HBO's Game of Thrones with 10 episodes PER YEAR. One would think with a successful, popular show that they would be doing 20+ episodes a year -- before the popularity fades.

That's why the popularity fades. Too many episodes. People get tired.

Game of Thrones is doing exactly what they ought to be doing. Concentrating on putting out a few well made episodes that advance the story.

And because of that, people are still watching. If you lose track of what happened between seasons, there's the DVD, or on demand, or screenings on other channels.

Look at how much junk television turned out when they absolutely had to shot and show 20 or 30 episodes a season. TV is better than it ever was. The broadcast networks are as bad as they always were. What's worth watching is on cable or streaming services.
