The year 2017 hasn't been forgiving to the broadcast networks. With a whopping 17 scripted launches since Jan. 1, nearly all new series are languishing with low ratings, even by today's modest standards. But that may not be entirely the new shows' fault: The root of midseason's problem, some say, is the middling fall that preceded it.
"In the past, midseason success was typically built on the foundation established in the fall," says Sam Armando, lead investment director at MediaVest-Spark, noting all but NBC (and sports-lifted Fox) are down this year. "Since only This Is Us popped in the fall, there just aren't any coattails to ride on."

I’m going to get going on Bosch. I was thinking about it before Trump decided to run and we’ve had so much excitement the last year and a half I forgot.
Is it based on Old Man Logan? Is the girl Laura/X-23?
I’m on You Tube every evening. I have an antenna TV for local weather and Retro TV shows. I rarely watch a complete local news broadcast because of their anti-Trump stance.
Bosch is great.
Last Man Standing and The Middle on ABC are “family entertainment” shows.
Simple. Illegal aliens still watch network TV in their own language.
Thanks for that suggestion-—I will definitely check it out.

The Astronaut Wives Club was a show that was good, but had a natural finish after 10 episodes.

Network TV’s development season is a joke. They still rely on the old development and pilot season, which results in the same old stale shows every season.
The remake was like an old school soap opera. It just took way, WAY too long for things to develop. After a while I realized I was just being strung along.
Tried a few new series last year - cancelled midseason
Not gonna invest time getting into another new series that may never finish a storyline.
We binged on a rainy nasty day. Watched Bosch, discussed Bosch, nooched and cooked good stuff, ate it and had some good California wines.
It is an intense show so only one show at a time~ Rest, eat and discuss what we saw. Then go to the next episode.
I was stuck in the hospital for weeks a couple years ago and found full episodes of just about any black and white old sitcom I could think of, especially many of their pilot episodes. Lots of movies, too, if they were more than 10-15 years old, although often they were uploaded in parts.
One thing I find fun about YouTube (and Vimeo) is that there are a lot of short films done with very little budget that are fun to watch . Even if they are just student projects, and you do have to dig around to find the good ones, some are as innovative as anything a studio can come up with.
A couple of good short films:
Perished: a short zombie film.
The Flying Man - (The maker of this short film has been offered a full length movie deal because of this short film.)
True enough. But in the U.S. that has only been true since around 1979, when the perverts (with the collaboration of the legal system) pleaded for just a little understanding.
By sheer coincidence, to an unaware, naïve country, the widespread arguments against what was then called the slippery slope of unintended consequences proved prescient with a vengeance.
No one can predict if a reversal will ever happen, or can ever happen.
There was a precariously balanced moral, religious, and cultural understanding for millennia about the reality of human sexual perversions, which actually worked as a restraining force into the usual tendency of unrestrained license degenerating into a force demanding ever increasing status beyond acceptance.
Psychology will get around eventually to righting the ship of the human tendency to fall into the shipwreck that perversions inevitable become.
Modern communications simply fuels the pandemic.
All pandemics inevitably burn themselves out or run out of hosts.
When it’s on, we watch Gotham/Grimm/Lethal Weapon/Big Bang, and occasionally some of Mom/Man With a Plan/Kevin can Wait, but those are only because the couple hundred cable channels always seem to be playing reruns of reruns of reruns......
Why would I want to watch a LBGT show, and that is about all they have on now. Even Super Girl now has a lesbo partnership.
What little TV we watch comes off RFDTV, at least it’s ‘clean’.
It was my bad, usually I test before I post.
Still watching cartoons, eh?....LOL!
I'll occasionally binge watch it on weekends......
I can’t that appeals to me, either and I’m a woman.
