So did you leave your loaded up cart at the checkout and tell them you’ll be shopping elsewhere from now on?

You must be in a very liberal area. I know some of the Publix Exec’s and Corporate folks, very conservative group of individuals and they run their company that way.

FWIW, I asked and was told that they cover it over if someone complains. I’ve seen different ones covered and not all of them had President Trump on them.

I have been in many a Publix, in Sarasota, Bradenton, and Longboat Key, Florida and NEVER has the cover of the NE ever been covered up, in the decade and 1/2 I've been shopping in them!

Cut them a break. This is more “protect the kiddies” than politics.

Publix has been doing this for years. Usually covered in just one check out aisle for the poor, sensitive souls out there.

Publix is a great grocery chain, well-managed with Conservative principles and no unions. Good to its employees, who provide great service to their customers. Publix is always closed on Thanksgiving, Christmas and Easter so employees can be with their families, and they advertise it as a plus. Our local stores always cover trashier tabloids for sake of decency, so I doubt it has anything to do with Trump on the current cover.

Well, after all - they have to safeguard community standards.

Whenever there’s a tabloid cover in the check out that has a headline that is sure to piss off a lib I take the entire stack out and distribute them evenly in every rack.

Publix is very conservative and pro family. Probably one of the best companies in the country! If they cover a magazine, its probably because it has racy covers most of the time.

No it is not because of Trump. Publix has always covered pictures with too much flesh, racy sounded headlines, and articles that may not be family friendly. There are always three or four magazines/tabloids covered every time I go to Publix

Our Safeway in WA State covered all of the tabloids whenever they felt like it, which was whenever something uncomplimentary to liberals was featured. I got furious, called the manager, and reminded him that those checkout stand publications PAY FOR THAT SPACE, which they do. It worked.

Try that at Publix. Call the mgr, make a stink, say you know the distributor.

Don’t get bent out of shape. It’s always covered, no matter the topic. Whether it’s about Trump or anyone else. When this first arose months ago I started looking. This topic is much ado about nothing. So uncovering it would be making an exception when Trump articles are on the cover and that’s not right. And I am pro-Trump. Let’s get real and not over-react.
