The ideology of Progressivism rests on the notion that experts should be given free rein to guide the populace in proper behavior, by persuasion if possible, but by governmental law and regulation if necessary. These experts could inform the disinterested administrators of a state powerful enough to impose itself on the behavior of the masses too ignorant to chart a personal course for themselves.
The folly of this view is nowhere exposed more nakedly than in the matter of personal eating habits. The advice of the experts has been so frequently wrong that the federal governments dietary guidelines have repeatedly been revised. The food pyramid that recommended lots of grains is long gone, replaced by something called MyPlate from the US Department of Agriculture. Pushed by Michelle Obama, of course -- formerly our national food scold, and impetus for more thrown-away school cafetria food than anyone in the nation's history.

As a result, fat-free and low fat foods have crowded supermarket shelves for decades, even as we get fatter and fatter. I have learned to skip them, not only because they dont satisfy the palate or the sense of hunger, but because I worry about the health effects of whatever is used to substitute for fat. Does it make sense that something the body craves, that nature supplies in abundance and that traditional cuisines from around the world use, is totally bad?

what happened to the circle divided into quarters? Does anyone teach that?
I’ve been known to ask for the Hardee’s 1/2 pounder wrapped in lettuce, no bun. The tomato and onion tend to drip, but it’s all good.
Have you read Death By Food Pyramid by Denise Minger?
No, I have not read that. I have, however, done quite a bit of my own historical and investigative learning.
Recently started this type diet so this thread jumped out at me.
Have you tried Sunflower Lecithin? According to my research it is the best source of Essential Fatty Acids.
I add 1 tbs of Sunflower Lecithin powder and 1 tsp coconut oil to my coffee in the morn and it’s an amazing energy booster.

What's funny is if you ask these Dem voters if they believe that people should be controlled in every aspect of their lives, by so called "superior intellects" of an all powerful government , many of them will immediately insist that they don't want this, (all powerful government), and that they are for "freedom" and "individual rights" .
They seem to have no clue what the Democrat/Progressive party is really about. (Then again Republicans don't challenge Dems about their Elitist ideas either, because they share the same Progressive goals.)
Sadly our republic desperately needs this debate to take place on a national scale, in order for our country to heal, but it's most likely not going to happen anytime soon, if ever.
However, this article is a good start. BUMP
Good info on the diet, many thanks!
One question; I’m allergic to milk & anything made from it, (cheese, cream, yogurt) with the exception of butter.
What does one do for a high fat diet if they are in my situation?
Olive oil, coconut oil, avocado oil, etc. Nuts, clean protein sources, and their fat, salmon, poultry, grass fed beef etc. lots of good fat sources.
Many thanks!
Eggs and beef and pork and other foods have fats. Some people can take lactase enzyme pills and eat aged, hard cheese and even high fat yoghurt, because they are mostly fat and low lactose. Coconut oil and MCT oil are high fat. There are plenty of people who are lactose intolerant and eat low carb high fat, but you would have to do some research. I see that dietdoctor.com has a section on recipes for LCHF dairy-free.
Does the lactase enzyme help prevent sinus congestion/stuffiness?
That’s what happens if I eat anything dairy.
Back when I was a kid, I would get a cold every month (out of school for a week), till my mom took me off milk.
