Walt Disney has shelved the release of its new movie “Beauty and the Beast” in mainly Muslim Malaysia, even though film censors said Tuesday it had been approved with a minor cut involving a “gay moment.”
The country’s two main cinema chains said the movie, due to begin screening Thursday, has been postponed indefinitely. No reason was given.

It isn’t about bestiality. First, the beast is a human who is transformed into a beast that is still basically human. He even turns back into a human at the end. (Oops spoiler!) Second, they aren’t having sex. It’s a.children’s story. Third, and most importantly, it is fiction.
Yeah, the whole thing was not intended to be a promotion on bestiality (though I’ll admit that I can forgive the mistake, since Belle clearly didn’t seem to realize that the Beast was originally human in the original film, something that this remake fixed by having her actually LEARN about the curse). Besides, this was in the original fairy tale anyways, well before Disney took it over.
That said, I do think that people ought to give a fresh look at the original 1991 film, since while it does not necessarily have a gay agenda (though, then again... I strongly suggest that this movie will be box office poison.
Even its rating from professional critics at rotten tomatoes is near bottom barrel, today 68%. If it drops below 60% it gets a “rotten” score. With a budget of $160m, and advertising likely another $100m, it is close to the point where unless it is a blockbuster, it will cost Disney another fortune.
The smart homosexuals should be wary, because it looks like Disney may blame them for the movie’s bad direction and mediocre acting. Emma Watson in particular doesn’t seem to be enjoying her role as a Disney princess.
I would have thought the bestiality and buggery would’ve gone over like gangbusters.

Ummm. The prince isn’t a beast really. He’s human and was cursed to look ugly. The lesson on the hundreds of years old story is that you shouldn’t judge a book by it’s cover. Good for Malaysia, though. It’s their country and their children.
Eh, personally, I think that was a rather stupid lesson to learn/give out. After all, Jean-Paul Sartre and how he treated women rather awfully and they fell for him despite his ugly exterior and even uglier character showed how not judging books by covers may actually be bad in the long run (besides, judging books by covers actually does allow for some survival skills. Like the poison dart frog, where it has those bright colors specifically to tell others to stay away from it because of its toxicity).
