Yeah, when Marlin was rolled-in with Remington by Cerberus, the employees weren't part of the move to New York. Remington machinists who were unfamiliar with the Marlin designs began building them, with poor results. Recently, that production line was retooled to use CNC more heavily. Reviews have since been improving.
Could also be the result of crappy guns.
Since Trump was elected, I bought 3 new guns.....almost 1 per month.
Yep - Magpul has a new optics mount that encircles the barrel and attaches underneath by the takedown latch. It's a better option for red dot sights and such, as zero isn't affected by the take-down process.
I thought it was the R-51 that was responsiblle for the slowdown at Remington.

Remove the NfA and allow machine guns and people will buy more to replace their semiautos...
My first carry piece was a Bersa .380 Arthritis got so bad I couldn’t rack it, had to trade for a revolver. I can load and clean myself. SO I have to stick with a Revolver not a automatic.
The Bersa was a sweet small butted gun with little kick back.
Arthritis and later added Peripheral Neuropathy especially in the dominant hand stops a lot of activities.
