On reflection, I think it means the diverse school has some black students and the flag wearing school does not

Although I am NOT familiar with the opposing teams ethnic makeup, I doubt that the issue was directed towards “black” students but perhaps latino or other minority students.
At one time this is (or was) America and if the kids choose to proudly display American colors so be it, those who are offended by those colors can leave. The “red/white and blue” has been displayed around the world for eons, those who are “offended” by those colors are free to leave and find a country whose colors are more to their liking.
I think if some minority or another, including blacks who are still only 14% of our total population and that does make them a minority, don’t like the USA so much they need to destroy it and what it stands for especially making an issue of redwhiteandblue then I think they need tickets to liberia.
