It was rhetorical.
No matter what they do- for or against anything - it is ALWAYS the Republicans fault.
I would bet, if The Wall had a GoFundMe page, it would be paid for in less than a month.
I’m up for a nice game of chicken.
DO IT!
MAKE MY DAY!
MAKE MY DAY!
they insisted its Republicans who will be blamed for a government shutdown.
Another example of the democrats disconnect with reality.
Those days are OVER
I’m all for shutting down the Government.
And not a phony, photo-op shutdown of national parks - EVERYTHING.
We’ll find out what Americans are really made of.
Sounds like a good idea, shut down the gov.
I don’t think Trump will mind a shutdown. He may even refuse to pay civil service workers over it. That is if he can, who knows what stupid laws the unions have had enacted.
Ashley Judd — The Aryan Feminist princess.
The filibuster is alive and well for all legislative matters.
So when the republicans were “the party of no”, they were to blame for government shutdown, and when the democrats are the party of no, the republicans are still to blame? I’m sure Chuckie is right that the media will blame them.
Except please keep the parks open this time.
SHUT IT DOWN who gives a DAMN!!!
Ditto that! They all ended up getting an extra paid vacation. And if someone is deemed nonessential, they should be classified as that for life.
I understand what and why you are advocating but I disagree with you. If Trump did that the media would be full of stories of “suffering” federal employees and give the media a chance to blame Trump for the shutdown. On the other hand if Congress follows past precedent and funds the employees when they get back, the media will probably ignore the shut down of the government. That gives Republicans a golden opportunity to point out the hypocrisy of the media.
Let’s open one up!
Good. Shut it down. All payroll forfeited for days shut down. For all government workers, including triple pay deductions for members of Congress.
This sort of thing can backfire. The Republicans are, after all, in majority, and if, for example, the funding bill that supports EBT cards were held up behind the Wall legislation and that expires, we have a little problem, don't we?
