Prosecutor Preet Bharara was fired by the attorney general a day after he refused to return a phone call from President Trump, a report alleges.
An assistant to the president of the United States called Bharara

Unless he was fired for cause the effect is the same. What's New York pay in unemployment these days?
Trump was calling to get answer why Preet was slow walking the Clinton Foundation investigation.
So, what kind of name is Spunky? : )
Slow with Hillary and Weiner, fast with Dinesh. Marketed as being tough on both sides of the aisle.
tophat is right in my opinion. I would slant his answer another way however.
The NY SD AG was saying he couldn’t talk to Trump to imply an “on going investigation” prevented him from speaking to the President. It slurs the President even if it is bull.
This was a payback to Schumer (his old boss) and other NY dems because he wants the NY Mayoral job.
I assumed it must be law - why would he say he can’t speak to the President of the country?
So it was OK to meet with Trump but not to take his phone call?
Sheesh...as if all this wasn’t choreographed.
So if l have the sequence correctly the resignation request was first then the refused phone call then he was fired. He admitted he didn’t know why POTUS was calling it might have been that Trump wanted to hear why he was declining to resign he doesn’t know of course because the arrogant punk refused the call. You are fired with cause at that point.
Now of MSM has thier stick of the week to beat with “Preet was fired because he was investigating Trump/Russians” will be this weeks narrative.
Fake Mews totally unsourced
Besides, Preet was likely leaking info to Schmuckie.
It’s a nick for Preetinder, which sounds like pretender to me....

If it were the law, and I doubt it, then it would be unConstitutional. As I said, Congress doesn't have the Constitutional power to manage the executive branch, the president does.
Why would Preet say that he can't speak to the president? Because he's an a$$?
He is now free to take any and all calls.
I'm thinking the same thing and maybe a little of this mixed in.

Exactly here’s the thing that is going to sink the Democrats
If your going to investigate someone for a crime you need to be impartial
Now in the case of Trump being Republican candidate for president run against Hillary ..everone on the Dem side of goverment would be naturally biased affected have to recuse themselves from participating.
So any legitimate investigation would have have a Chinese Wall constructed between it and anyone any political interest in it outcome. In other words any legitimate investigation would have to be held to the highest standards.
But we have the opposite case ..information was gathered leaked and used politically against Trump all over the place
What’s really going to kill the Dem is in their investigation they found nothing Criminal so it makes it look even more bias on their part
This AG already hsd a very politically suspicious prosecution of Dinesh D’Souza and that was for the political advantage of Hillary also
So if we have the AG already doing a political prosecution of a Hillary opponent Dinesh D’Souza
Is it really hard to believe this AG would do a second political driven investigation against a second Hillary opponent in this case Trump???
Isn't that some type of hair removal product?
“One must peel back many layers of the raw pearl to see the real jem.”
This may all be Kabuki Theater.
Preet announced personally that he had been fired, which is exactly what he, and perhaps President Trump wanted the news for public consumption to be in this case.
USASDNY is purely a political job. It pushed Rudy Giuliani into the mayors job. Chris Christie did the same re: governor with USANDNJ.
In a city that hates Trump, as shown by the 2016 electoral results, this is a very smart move by Preet and perhaps engineered by Trump to preempt Clinton in the upcoming mayoral race. It could also make DeBlasio the third person in a two person fight, and having to make enemies defeating Hillary in a Dem primary as well.
Very Machiavellian. Very Trumpian.
This is all far from over.
All will become clear in its time...
