I’m against DST because it makes the birds start chirping an hour earlier.

I've got about 6000 sparrows (hyperbole) in a hedge. Sounds like a school auditorium full of middle school girls. I'm in real trouble.

The neighborhood Peregrines eat everything but the sparrows.

How did the birds know?

Of course, that may mean that you have an opportunity to be upright and take nourishment.

Chirping birds are positive feedback.

How so? It will be darker an hour longer in the morning, so the birds should start chirping an hour later. And you get an extra hour of sleep!

I love chirping birds... but in Seattle in the summer time they start chirping at 4:15 am. A bit too early for me! Down here in Arizona they start chirping at a much more civilized hour.
