Students and faculty arrived at Button Drill Room for an open forum titled “Whiteness: What does that mean?” on Wednesday afternoon. The event opened a discussion of how people express racial identity, particularly regarding white people, in Kentucky. Participants talked about how they discovered the concept of race along with their experiences with their own racial identities. The discussion is the second event offered in the Spring 2017 semester by CommUNITY Conversations, a project created by Cory Clark, Minority Academic Services coordinator, and Chris Blakely, Minority Retention coordinator.

Whiteness is that feeling you get when you remember the black kids who were bused into your school and beat you up in a group and took your lunch money when you were in the 7th grade.
The only countries being “reassimilated” . . white. No immigration to China, Japan, etc. If color doesn’t matter, why destroy whiteness?
The biologist Steven Pinker described the general behavioral traits that have lead the the dominance of Caucasian populations. His research determined that these are both culturally acquired and inherited. The key behaviors were a rejection of violence for conflict resolution, a strong bias toward long term parental investment by males, and the capacity to delay immediate gratification in the pursuit of long term objectives like education or wealth accumulation. Although all racial populations have a normal distribution of these attributes, the mean for Caucasian populations is statistically higher than African populations for reasons that are due to the different environments that both groups evolved under. Ultimately over time these differences will be obliterated by the inevitable mixing of the racial groups that has been occuring globally at an accelerating pace.

Morehead State is in the eastern Kentucky mountain region. Maybe they should face the facts that a lot of the problems of the white people in the region are in fact the same problems faced by many blacks.
As groups they don’t read, write, or speak the language very well and too many parents in both groups don’t value education. It’s hard for an outsider to even understand what members of these groups are saying. Even travel outside the comfort zone of their group is difficult because of this language barrier. Both groups tend to butcher the grammar, e.g., “Let me tell you what I seen and what I done about it”.
The speech, dress and grooming of both groups makes employment difficult, even within their comfort zones.
Both groups have huge problems with obesity, alcohol, smoking, illegal drugs and all the problems that come with those.
Most problems of both groups are self-inflicted.
I live in Kentucky and I’m not proud of these things, but I believe them to be true.
Whiteness to me means I can’t really jump that high.
A room full of self hate, any white person who attended without being required to needs to see someone about their feelings of worthlessness.
The only time I ever even consider my “whiteness” is when I am buying makeup and need to match my skin tone.
African Americans are taught from the earliest age that whites hate them, everything is owed to them, the deck is stacked against them, they can never succeed unless they act white, that color of skin is everything and that white cops’ sole job is to keep them down. That lesson is pounded into their heads over and over and over their entire lives so to expect them to think rationally about race is ridiculous.
“Whiteness” is a term used by anti-white racists. It means ‘avenue for exploiting foolish white people in order to destroy them and their culture.’
Example: Obama’s open borders, Dreamers, and unlimited refugee policies are a legitimate response to racist whiteness.
Whiteness means I can’t dance.
By the Lefts own embrace of diversity they are being hypocrites because whites add to the natural diversity of the human race.
You and I were the only ones who took this story in the vein it was intended. Whiteness means sunburn badly.
