A meteor strike would be an event that amerindo survivors would depict in their cave-drawings.

Odessa is said to be Pleistocene or younger. Although they call it about 65,000 years old, they are just guessing.

Well, Lordy. It’s good that Trump came along. They were
starting to run out of things to blame on Bush.

The AZ impact is way to small. Only about 20 Mt.

They are in their legends. Also a lot of tales of originating from a hole in the ground (or sky). Could have been leaving the fallout/impact shelters...

I don't know if any culutre depicted a meteorite in cave drawings. But, I know aboriginals of Australia, have a long history of depicting them in oral tradition. They are actually using such history/location to find those meteorites today.

12,800 years is getting a little close for comfort. No sarcasm.

Isn’t that about the time the Anasazi ‘disappeared’?

Yeah, the festive article about Clovis people is quite appropriate for the upcoming St. Patrick’s Day holiday.

A meteor always comes in handy when the science just doesn’t add up.

They younger dryas was about 1600 year ....cooling... period. Maybe the meteor shower caused some melting but the resulting dust is reputed to have caused a sharp downdraft in temperatures. The one fatal flaw in all these meteor caused a nuclear winter hypothesis is how in the hell did the meteor dust (which includes metals heavier than lead & gold) stay suspended in the atmosphere for centuries & millennia ?
It would all wash out in a manner of weeks if not days.

Interesting point. Or maybe there is another less visible “Meteor Crater” somewhere that syncs up with the events, better.

The Solutrean hypothesis represents the arrival of peoples from Europe.
The less well known Soultrain hypothesis represents the arrival of peoples from Africa.
