Another fake story, indeed she does.
FWIW, I live in S.E. Michigan and if I decide to go to Windsor for a night at the casino, I need either a US passport or a Michigan "Enhanced" drivers license that will allow me to pass thru Canadian customs once I cross thru the tunnel.
Upon my return, I need the same identification once I leave Canada and enter thru U.S. Customs where I WILL be challenged........
If I decide to go to Windsor armed with only a drivers license and birth certificate, Canadian Customs ain't going to let me in!
Things have changed then. 25 years ago I was in Detroit on business and took a cab across to Windsor to go to a club. Nothing but a California drivers license for ID. No question on the Canada end, but on the return they quizzed me on city I was born in, name of high school attended, etc. Seemed pretty pro-forma.
I am actually pretty shocked that any foreign citizen can come to America on a “tourism or business” visa. Seems like anyone could do that and simply become a visa “overstay” working and living here illegally and dropping anchor babies years later. Why would any Mexican pay a coyote $5,000 to sneak them across ? Why not buy nice ski clothes, get a tourist visa to ski in Aspen, and disappear from there ? Cheaper and less risky than $5,000 to a coyote.
