Not only is the Mexican government not building a wall; it's spending $50 million to beef up its legal aid to migrants who fear deportation, a response to President Donald Trump's crackdown on illegal immigration.
All 50 Mexican consulates in the U.S. on Friday launched legal assistance centers to form partnerships with nonprofit groups and tap lawyers to help those fearing Trump's policies.
SNIP--
Miami's Mexican consul general, Jose Antonio Zabalgoitia, said Friday that these centers would become "authentic advocates of the rights of Mexican migrants."
"What changes today is that we are prioritizing legal matters over everything. Previously, we didn't have the need to seek so much legal support for our people," he said. "But now, we need to protect them against an eventual deportation."

Yet they Mexican govt won’t help them while they are still in Mexico.
Fifty consulates?
The MEH-HEE-CANS should have fewer than ten.
What Mexico is doing, and has been doing, is an act of war.
America should have invaded and conquered Mexico 40 or 50 years ago.
Is this like the Russians interfering with our politics?
2 things Mexico admits. One. It is a fetid dump of a failed nation. Two, they don’t want the people who come here. Yet MECHA and La Raza wave Mexican flags and chant Mexican pride slogans in American cities.
Two words: REMITTANCE PAYMENTS!
To answer your question, NO.
..and Trump should withhold foreign aid to Mexico for meddling in our immigration matters.
The fact Mexico is willing to pump $50M into keeping Mexicans in the US illegally says a lot about how big an “industry” Mexicans sending money home is. It is also proof that we are being invaded by another nation, not just by illegals who are coming here supposedly to have a better life.
If they just handed it over, yes, but how about using it to offset tax breaks for small businesses or something like that?
“America should have invaded and conquered Mexico 40 or 50 years ago.”
Do we really want all those problems? All former Spanish colonies are irredeemably corrupt. Mexico will be corrupt for as long as a single Mexican draws the breath of life.
Amazing how governments and politicians can make a very simple problem, into a complex one, in an attempt to justify their existence.
This is a very simple problem with a very simple solution....
1. Recall of all US Diplomats from Mexico and close all US facilities. The Embassy, Consulates, etc
2. Once that is done(should take a couple of weeks to a month) advise Mexico that its embassy and consulates will be closed and all diplomats and staff will be told to leave the US.
3. A PSA that any and all benefits will be cut to anyone in this country illegally, starting with those that have obtained them most recently and then working back. Advise that it will be a systematic process, not an abrupt halt to everyone at once.
In other words, DACA and DAPA are null and void. There is no birthright citizenship. Have that policy go into effect exactly 3 months after the Mexican Embassy is closed.
4. A PSA stating that anyone that needs help getting back to their homeland, should call ICE, identify themselves and help will be afforded to them, to make it back home.
5. A PSA stating that those individuals that either came here illegally as children or were born here and who now serve in the US military or some other public service(Police, Fire, EMT, Teacher, or are in a STEM related field), are automatically granted “citizenship”.
6. A PSA stating that if you came here illegally as children or were born here, and you can prove that: you graduated from high school/college, you have a legitimate job, pay your taxes, are not a financial burden on the taxpayer, and have no family members receiving benefits they shouldn’t be getting, then, once you prove all of that, your citizenship will be granted. If you do have family members getting bennies they’re not supposed to, then you, as a family, can repay those costs to the taxpayer and if you’re willing to take on the financial responsibility of caring for your family members, then they can stay.
7. A PSA stating that for those that want to challenge these policies in US courts, will do so from their ancestral homes, not sitting around in the Section 8 housing that the American taxpayer is providing. Unless their lawyers and other supporters want to foot the bill for all costs, thus relieving the American taxpayer of any and all financial burdens.
The mass migration to the southern and northern borders will be biblical.
500,000 immigrants in court backlog, 50 Mill in fund. That’s a hundred bucks each.
That will buy you 10 minutes lawyer time. Good luck with that amigo.
Mexico for years denied they were sending over their poor, and uneducated. Now we have immigration laws enforced finally, the same Mexicans set this up, thus admitting they do send their poor, and uneducated over to here.
Well no more regardless how how many media sob stories are told. If they have family here they also have family over there so we are reuniting their families in Mexico , their country.
Fairbanks, or Honolulu. I like the latter - they can't say they are being forced to go to an unpleasant place. :-)
That’ll help about a thousand illegals.
I would say Adak Island Alaska, birthplace of the winds.
Tax entrance into Mexican Consulates.
