Can’t fire them, but you can transfer them, change their duties etc. Like custodian in Yakima, WA office

President Trump said (paraphrasing) that a lot of those positions wouldn’t be filled; they were not needed.

If Governor’s and Legislatures in said States would simply declare the 17th null and void we could get on with life as it was originally established before progressive morons in 1913 decided they would prevail over the Constitution.

Since the Republicans control the Senate, they could arrange an adjournment of greater than three days, which would permit recess appointments for all these positions, not requiring confirmation until the end of 2018.

I remember reading before the inauguration that Obama had a huge number of his appointees in the various agencies hired as permanent workers.
Under the Reagan administration it was often times stated that NO ONE in his government can depend on permanent worker status, unless they want to permanently clean the restrooms.

Given the Senates vacation schedule, officially state work period, there is an almost impossibility of Trump getting all 1242 appointees confirmed in four years even if they worked round the clock. If the figure is only 500 appointees it would take nearly two years of round-the-clock work.

If *this* doesn’t SCREAM that govt it too big, bloated and inefficient....
If the Senate does NOTHING but confirmation, it would take 2 YEARS?? WTF?!

The Democrats [and their Uniparty Republican allies] refuse to accept the results of an election.
I'm seriously thinking of not bothering to vote next election - or ever again, if this keeps up.
They're not going to like it one bit when the millions of Trump supporters start thinking the same way.
When WE refuse to accept the results of an election, it's REALLY ugly.

One could only conclude that the Republicans are in collusion with the Democrats. Ya think? Thank God for President Trump.
He has revealed all. 😀
