That's the real issue. I don't think they have anything on him that can be used for "leverage", so they have to make stuff up.

They are extremely worried that Sessions will stop the Left's funding from DOJ settlement agreements:

For example, under Attorney General Eric Holder, the DOJ used legal settlements with Citigroup and Bank of America to make them offer $150 million in donations to various groups, according to the Wall Street Journal. “The BofA agreement contains a provision that potentially tees up nonprofit groups for another $490 million.”

There are BIG BUCKS potentially at risk for the Left, if Sessions is left free to clean house at DOJ. The EPA and other regulatory agencies have also been busy funding Leftist groups via settlements.
