It was the worst night for Democrats since November 8, 2016. After President Trump’s speech to a joint session of Congress, Rachel Maddow looked as though a loved one has just died – the same face she had on Election Night. Her fellow panelists, desperate for something to criticize, focused on the president using two hands to pick up a cup.

The Democratic Party members watching that speech looked like a party of the living dead. They didn't know how to react. They didn't know if they were Americans. They didn't know who they were.The Democrats' response was simply pathetic, delivered by a former governor of Kentucky who was replaced by a Republican. The party that is obsessed with identity politics chose an old white guy with white hair who reminded every cable TV viewer of a pitchman for products and services sold to seniors.
Every time Trump called for bipartisanship for the good of our country, they winced. They couldn't stand it and didn't know how to react because they are the least bipartisan people in the world and they scarcely know what cooperating is. Working together is not in their natures.

But you know what? those of us on the Trump Train can wave wildly and cheerfully as we go past.
Although seeing all of those democratic women wearing white, I couldn’t help believe that they were selling ‘White Power’...I hope that the Blacks were paying attention.

Unfortunately the dems are not dead but The Speech was a body blow. Their whole past month of hate spew was blown away by a reasoned, articulate, focused call for united action to solve the nation's most serious problems.
The catheter image in the article was spot on too. The dems are now officially the party of old. Not the vigorous Donald Trump, Mel Gibson, Alveda King old but the sickly Nancy Pelosi, George Soros, Debbie Wasserboard Schultz old.
The comeback trail could be long for them.
Some GOP guy from Kentucky gave a response to the response on Facebook. He told how corrupt this former governor and his administration were, some of them in prison. He told how the current republican administration is still cleaning up his mess.

The Democrats took a good hard schlonging last night. Hope they have those air rings to sit on today.
It was touching to watch Ivanka with Owen’s wife, putting her hand on her and comforting her when they sat down. It was obviously heartfelt.
I spent time in the Rat Lab at UCSB many years ago. Where the rats lived was a windowless room with an day/night cycle on a timer. If you were in there when the lights went out, the rats—hundreds of them—seem to come to life. Very strange, almost nightmarish experience.
