What do you get for a $200,000 membership fee at Mar-a-Lago? A gigantic hole in the middle of your clubs lawn, apparently.
Were told that President Trump has begun building a large helipad on the grounds of his private club in Palm Beach, Fla., so that Marine One can fly in directly.
At the moment, the president lands at a nearby airport and transfers to a car for his weekly visits to his Winter White House, but that is causing too much trouble.
Were told the 40- to 50-foot-wide dirt pit on the west lawn is currently surrounded by bright orange construction posts. But club insiders say that members are willing to put up with the eyesore, because they hope it will reduce the traffic that is caused when the presidents motorcade rolls though.

And how much? The article made it sound as though it’s trump, if so, no problem. If taxpayers... I have a problem. What kind of prez snubs the White House.. just not good enough for him? Elitist. Just build the durn wall, deport criminals and back israels sovereignty... I won’t be unhappy with that. I am unhappy with a Trillion dollar stimulus.. the 7trillion dollar “vehicle to repeal Obamacare”. Center right is ok, for now.
Trump has more cash on hand than he can spend.
We are paying for this
Obama is still riding around in Secret Service SUVs and who knows what else he’s still using
No, but Page Six can say the members are idiots for paying $200,000 to being members. Plus, they can point out that Trump only hangs out with wealthy people.>>>>>
No problem. Jealousy never gets any work done.
And of course Obama , Clinton and Carter never hung out with a majority of wealthy people.Sadly it comes with the territory?
In AMerica, wealthy people should never have to apologize for their wealth. That view is a recent liberal lefty cultural meme, hide your wealth and do not use it publicly for good?. That’s over now.

You get to hang out in the same building as the President of the United States.
I would so much like him to do Reaganesque visit to Camp David too.
At least during the winter months. That part of Florida can be brutally hot the rest of the time. I have a feeling he’ll be coming home to Trump Tower in NYC quite a bit during the warmer months. The police here have a permanent command post setup nearby.
thanks.
There’s an island nearby that was used as a bunker for JFK. I think they added soil on top rather than digging.
Are they flying Osprey Marine Ones yet?
Apparently the White House is in dire need of several renovations, which were delayed and deferred by the previous resident.
Have you lived in a house undergoing reno’s? It’s less than pleasant, to put it mildly.
Going to Mar-A-Lago or New York for his weekend is a good choice, though Camp David should be higher on his list, IMHO.
Of course he'll fly AF1 down to FL then chopper over to the place from the airport...
Camp David in the winter is not that great and certainly not for heads of state visits. Now Spring and Summer are a different matter.
Trump is trying to ease the problems caused by VIP movement. Hussein couldn’t have cared less. The level of contempt he demonstrated towards Americans was breathtaking, but Trump said mean things so it’s ok..
Well, he’s working for us and not taking a dime of salary, so I guess it all evens out!

It ALSO prevents your average, every day liberal nutjob from buying a membership.
The jail terms for misuse of government money are pretty severe, and I don’t see Brock, Styr, or Alex Soros ponying up that kind of money, just for a one-time propo statement
I would bet Trump will go there at least every other week. Say 30 times/year. Libs are claiming it is $2M per trip. Press is going to chew pretty hard on the tax payer dollars. Just watch.
The name might even be changed to “Camp Barron”.
Has Trump taken off one full day yet?
