The president was heading to his new flagship property in D.C., the Trump Hotel, for a private dinner at the BLT Steakhouse inside. Once the president arrived at the location, the reporter who was on assignment to cover him, Jordan Fabian of The Hill, was not let into the building and had to wait in the van outside for the remainder of the dinner, without a guest list or details of what was happening inside.
Inside the restaurant, I was seated at a table that had booked hours earlier, directly next to where Trump would be dining. I made the booking based on a tip from a trusted source. I was ready to tell the story no one else would get to see and was personally fascinated to observe how a restaurant prepares for a president and how Trump interacts when he believes no press are present...
6:45 PM: Our bacon tower appetizer arrives. Highly recommended.

Great read, thanks for posting.
But I was a little alarmed that this guy had this much access to information on Trump’s whereabouts, movements, etc.
Praying protection over POTUS!
Really? Trusted source? Who, Mr. WH Leaky?
BACON.
Fun, informal, real.
Didn’t read anything unexpected. Ooooh, he tipped C-note. He is a regular tycoon but he’s decided to take a chunk out of his life to work for the rest us.
Very cool. I hope to eat there, don’t know if it’s booked for months or not.
Ketsup on steak?
Not crazy about the clothespin presentation, but; POPOVERS!
Yep. Just a regular bloke. There are dozens in my neighborhood. We all voted for him...
Wow, a person in government who actually pays his own bills! A refreshing change after hearing all the stories of politicians who think that being elected means they can do whatever they want, spend whatever they want, and let “the little people” pay for it.
Great story! I am sure this reporter was chosen. Heh.
Trump is in the hospitality business.
Yeah, bacon on a clothes line?? HUH?
That was nice. I love that our President is a good man
Same here. I liked what I read from a point of being entertaining reading, but yes, I did wonder if we were being told far more than was wise to be public knowledge. I was mostly concerned about the time diary of his reports, the minute by minute description of who was standing where, and next to whom, how many secret service agents were seen, what manner of blockade did the agents form between the president and the outside.
The photographs alone told an great deal, with their wide vistas full of detail and distance indicators.
I’d be interested in how the author of this article voted, not that he has to tell anybody. By any chance, does this writer have a slightly used P*ssyHat stuffed into the back of his glove compartment?
Looks like something Cousin Eddie (Randy Quaid) or Larry the Cable Guy knocked together with washroom clothespins after the underwear was dry.
It will be now.
That is disconcerting but God is protecting him.
And I'll bet the Secret Service are doing 110% for him cause they know he respects and appreciates them.
Trump, apparently, is a real ‘meat and taters’ kinda guy. Love it!
ABSOLUTELY WONDERFUL POSTING!
Thank you, thank you, thank you!
IF I ever get to Washington, D.C. again, I want to dine there!
