"We were just enjoying his new TV show...Training Day."
I had just finished watching the latest episode with OnDemand when I read of his death. I posted this earlier, but then remembered that the last scene in the 4th episode is of Paxton sitting in a cemetery, having a drink, and speaking to his old partner Billy at his gravesite. Prophetic?

Id just as soon not have seen this story anyway, being 61 and scheduled for abdominal surgery in a couple of weeks.Prayers for you, but I'm sure you will be just fine.
I've been under general anesthesia about 11 times during my lifetime... I'm still here. :-)

Lolololol!!!!!!!!! Damn you! I almost swallowed my tongue when I read that.

Wikipedia lists 65 movies he acted in. I have seen exactly one of them (
Stripes).
If someone had asked me yesterday if Bill Paxton was a Congressman, an author, an actor, or a musician, I wouldn't have known the answer.

You never saw Apollo 13?
You have to check that one out. It really was very good.

"Twister" is the best movie to watch when your area is in a tornado watch and it is real windy.
The weather makes for the best surround sound. Guaranteed to give you the shivers.

He also go shot in the leg as Sam Huston in Texas Rising.

Why would I watch a movie about Apollo 13? I already know how it turned out.
To: Bronzewound
Damn shame. I really liked his latest show, Training Day. Great actor.

I’m surprised no one mentioned, ‘JFK: The Final Hours,’ which Paxton narrated.
He was at the parade in Dallas (there is a picture of him in the crowd) and talks about his experiences as well as the general events of the day of the assassination.

“Game over, man!”
Seriously though, he was a terrific actor, I’m really sorry to read about this. RIP.

I still dont know who he wasHe was probably best known for his role in "Aliens," but he was actually a very talented character actor, and from everything I've read about him, a decent guy.
He was really terrific in "Apollo 13" as well.
