Governors are on CSPAN now, talking about having breakfast for students in PA.
Do we not give them enough in food stamps.
If they would buy sensibly they could make it last.
So tired of being behind people buying CRAP with their EBT.

I thought all states gave free breakfasts. We’ve done it for 15 years or so. Yes, more government waste.

Then there are some schools that have free snacks and supper. Many have free lunches delivered to central locations around town in the summer time for anyone 21 and under whether they’re a student or not.

You’ve read all those stories about the mean ol’ lunchroom ladies who throw kids’ lunch trays in the trash for non payment? Ours gives sack lunches to the kids who don’t pay and haven’t signed up for the free lunch program. A sack lunch might cost tax payers more than a lunch tray - lunchmeat and cheese sandwich, fresh fruit, chips and milk. With our high taxes, the only ones starving are us.

Back when I worked for the state, my secretary shared the front office with the welfare secretary. One day, the welfare secretary got fed up and quit because she was making le$$ than her welfare clients. Tell me there isn’t something wrong with that picture.

They’d sit in the lobby bragging about where all they partied the night before and with whom and showed off their bling, hair weaves and salon nails but would whine to the secretary how they didn’t have enough to buy milk for their kids. Sad how the rest of us have to stick with a budget but they don’t. Instead of killing my knees for two hours at the grocery store rummaging through the clearance and comparing unit prices, I could be out in no time grabbing high priced convenience items like the EBT crowd.

That same government job, I would make home visits. You wouldn’t believe the wasted and rotted food they’d have. Excuse me, that’s hard earned tax dollars going to the garbage. We pay for their EBT food, their 3 meals a day during the school year, afternoon snacks and lunches during the summer. And they throw it in the garbage! Excuse me, but my budget doesn’t allow food waste. A couple nights ago, I made a pot of rice and dumped in every leftover in the fridge for Chinese - teeny piece of beef, one serving of green beans, half a bell pepper, an onion that was already going bad from a just bought bag (our store sells crap), one celery stalk, two carrots, the last bit of lettuce cut off the core and swished around some water in the nearly empty ketchup bottle which was poured into the nearly empty homemade jar of jelly and heated to get every bit out for the sauce. I’ve already turned the leftover rice into a rice pudding for tonight. Guaranteed all of that would have been in an EBT’s garbage. Disgusting. Give them 6 months twice a lifetime to be on welfare (with weekly MANDATORY LIFE SKILLS CLASSES - childcare, cooking, shopping, job readiness, basic sewing, housekeeping, budget, basic home repairs all pared down to a 12 year old’s comprehension) and after that too darned bad, they’re on their own.
