"...veterans of past administrations and members of Congress from both parties criticized the decision to put Mr. Bannon on the principals committee, saying that it risked injecting politics into national security. President George W. Bushs senior adviser, Karl Rove, was generally kept out of sensitive national security meetings. Mr. Obamas senior adviser, David Axelrod, attended some national security meetings but was not given formal status."
"As for Bannon, who may be cut from the NSC, Trump's decision will be carefully watched as such a move would be potentially perceived as a relaxation of Bannon's influence over Trump, a topic which has been of material focus for the press in recent weeks."

McMaster is a dangerous man. I still cannot believe Trump hired this Islamophile douchebag
He can and should keep his security clearance, does not need to be part of the NSC, organizationally, to advise Trump
MCMASTER is doing the globalist's bidding! Conservatives have been screaming about this HORRIBLE NSA pick for 4 days now.
Exactly I don’t understand all this “Fake News” accusation pushback. Look what happened to Flynn!
Thank you. I agree with you, it’s just...after Flynn, my vigilance is higher than ever.
I KNOW! :(
Uttered under the Obama regime. Let’s see what he says under Trump.
Zero Sludge. This RE: Steve Bannon is pure crap.
“As for Bannon, who may be cut from the NSC, Trump’s decision will be carefully watched as such a move would be potentially perceived as a relaxation of Bannon’s influence over Trump, a topic which has been of material focus for the press in recent weeks.”
Trump delegated the job to the Top Dog and gave him full autonomy, just like a regular corporation.
Bannon will lateral somewhere else
Who is Tyler Durden? If you know the answer then you know that Zero Hedge borders on a parody blog.
It is common for a generalist advisor to sit on something and get it headed the right direction and then leave to take on some other task. I have no idea if this is the Bannon situation and zerohedge and FReepers dont know either.
But this certainly is an opportunity for trolls to play divide-n-conquer. Trying to split Priebus and Bannon didnt work so now lets try Bannon and someone else.
And at some future pint Bannon might do a Lewandowski and step aside. Now that event can really generate the fake gossip.
the first rule of Zero Hedge is...
But even without this article, I had and still have my doubts about McMaster.
“Steve Bannon is the most important figure in our President’s inner circle. Truly one of our own.”
I concur.
Agreed.
More fake news. Not one single comment from McMaster on Bannon.
“McMaster does not believe that Islam is inherently a danger to us. He was a bad choice.”
That’s what I’m thinking, too. That statement goes against obvious, overwhelming evidence to the contrary and brings McMaster’s judgment into question, to say the least. Maybe Trump wanted to get the constant barrage about Flynn behind him, but I sure wish we had Flynn back.
Seems to me, considering McMaster’s statement on Islam, that Trump would feel he absolutely needs Bannon on the NSC to watch McMaster.
1.) Everything you read is bullshit.
2.) Donald Trump didn't spend hundreds of millions of his own money winning the presidency just so he could hand over the reins of power to establishment hacks.
That’s what the Tyler’s do!
Do not believe any of the bullshit that you read. It is only put out to discourage us and harm Donald. Donald, himself will announce anything we need to know. I had to give myself the same advise I gave you. I stopped reading any of the crap the msm and their punks spew and my blood pressure went down considerably. If you wish to help Donald, pray for him.
Agreed. The concern is Bannon, Miller, Conway, and Trump ending up isolated while Priebus populates the WH with his GOPe lackeys who are not friends of Donald J. Trump.
The Priebus/Pence/Ryan nexus is a real concern. While Trump continues to meet with business executives, it seems to me as if it ought to be a priority to charm some of the Congress critters he needs to get his tax cuts through—in reconciliation, this spring.
I would rather see him forging direct relationships with key members of the Freedom Caucus, for example, as well as the more conservative Democrat Senators with elections in 2018. Meet in small off-the-record groups. Butter them up. Ask for their ideas on getting to consensus and getting his agenda through. Offer ongoing communication with them and ask them for their help.
Leaving Congress to Priebus/Pence/Ryan seems unwise.
