THOMAS ALLEN: WHERE IS THE LIFE THAT LATE I LED? The London Proms feature a variety of summer performances with a mix of classical and popular. Thomas Allen, one of Englands great lieder and opera baritones, here takes a turn at an American musical. (One of my desert island DVDs is the Met production of Wagners Die Meistersinger with Allen in the role of Sixtus Beckmesser.) This video is from the 2004 Proms. Thats Leonard Slatkin conducting.
