Front National leader Marine Le Pen has extended her lead in polling for the French Presidential elections, and is now comfortably placed to win the first round of voting. The BVA-Salesforce poll published Thursday gave Le Pen on 27 per cent of the vote in the first round of the election, due to take place on 23 April, up 2.5 percentage points from the last time the poll was conducted in early February.
A second poll by Harris International showed similar results placing Le Pen on 25 percent, four points clear of Francois Fillon (Les Republicains) and five ahead of Emmanuel Macron, an independent who split from the Socialist party last August.
Both polls were conducted at the start of the week, before Wednesday evenings announcement by veteran centrist Francois Bayrou that he would be dropping out of the race to lend support to Macron, a move which analysts say could give the independent candidate the edge over his rival Fillon.

Go Le Pen. No one wants any more of the old guard Soros backed monkeys - France already has more than enough of them.
My French friend tells me that even if Le Pen wins the first round, there will be a second round and the losing votes will coalesce to the party who took second place in the first round. Thus, it will be extremely difficult for Le Pen to win overall.
Over the past 5 days La Pens party offices have been raided and one of her bodyguards was arrested or questioned and either he was also an advisor, or yet a 3rd arrested or questioning of her chief advisor.
She has no chance of winning. The votes already counted.
That sometimes happens, but it is possible that some of the votes of the losing candidate will go her as well.
That is what they said about Trump.
It’s that burka there?
A lead in the first round of voting means nothing if she can’t draw enough additional support to beat the other candidate who makes it to the second round, and the media will spin her loss in the second round as ‘a resounding rejection of extreme nationalist rhetoric and a gigantic endorsement of modern European liberalism.’
Traditionally, candidates seeking to expand their base soften their rhetoric and moderate their tone... And in the case of candidates on the right, they are still painted as literally Hitler and they lose. Trump rejected that plan and won, her mileage may vary with that tactic, but I don’t remember the last candidate on the political right that softened their tone and tacked to the middle and succeeded.

Maybe the French are getting le’ pissed!
Time to “bitch slap” Merkel!
I see the Trump Effect starting to occur in France.
Le Pen may not have been some people’s first choice, but she may still be their second choice. Nothing says a second round will have the losers’ supporters oppose her.
That is like saying all Trump’s primary opponents’ supporters would coalesce around Cruz or Kasick while Trump had a ceiling of 30%. Didn’t happen.
I have a hard time believing the French voters are happy with the EU unelected bureaucracy and the Muslim invasion. Le Pen is the only alternative to that, even if she is further than most want to go.
and Brexit
You go girl.
