Congress should use every tool at its disposal to rein in activist federal courts, Sen. Ted Cruz, R-Texas (A, 97%) said in a closed-door meeting with reporters at the 2017 Conservative Political Action Conference Thursday. And this includes limiting their jurisdiction with federal legislation, Cruz stated.
Don't Miss A Tweet Profile Picture Conservative Review @CR Follow In the last congressional session, Sen. Cruz introduced a bill that would have limited the jurisdiction of federal court on marriage. When asked about similar legislation, the senator reiterated his unapologetically bold thoughts on the subject of judicial overreach.
We should be using all legislative and constitutional authority to rein in the abuses [of activist courts], Sen. Cruz said.

The President cannot pass legislation. That's on Congress; specifically it's on the congressional leadership. That would be the unholy duo of McConnell and Ryan.
Thank you.

You and your nonsense again?
Ted Cruz has done more for conservatism in America than you could do if you lived to be a million years. All you do is constantly spew out garbage. How many cases have you argued before the Supreme Court to fight and WIN for conservative causes?
Truth?
You wouldn’t know the truth if it hit you right between the eyes.
My record is 0/0 before the court.
Ted’s is 2/7 before the court.
Once again, if every Conservative had done what Ted did last year, Hillary could be president.
That’s your leader for you, doing more for Conservatism than I will in a lifetime.
Bwa ha ha ha ha ha
Well it certainly hasn’t hit you between the eyes.
>I dont know how any Conservative can read what I wrote here and elsewhere and ever support Tead Curz for anything.
>He was willing to let the nation go, so he could have a chance in 2020.
>He was mindbogglingly absent without leave.
He sure was. However unlike Ryan and most of the rest of the GOP he didn’t bail on Trump after the Access Hollywood tape and has been one of Trump’s best cheerleaders since then.
I don’t trust Ted Cruz because Ted has proven to be untrustworthy, however he’s working in my and Trump’s interests at the moment and for that I’ll gladly cheer Ted on. We’re in a war to death with the left. We need to work with our allies, not purge them.
You couldnt argue a case before the Supreme Court if your life depended upon it. Not that anyone would let ya. LOL
Just wanted you to know I’ve got your back in this argument :)but you’ve covered all the points. Unfortunately, what’s the saying? There are none so blind as those who will not see..
I’m not saying you are a troll but I am saying you are dead wrong on Cruz. First, let me say that I have voted for Cruz, I have donated to Cruz and I have met with him and his wife one on one for a few minutes. That said, I voted for Trump and I like Trump. Indeed, every day’s like Christmas with Trump....as somebody recently said.
I don’t have a wife anymore, thankfully, but I guarantee you one thing. Namely, if Trump had insulted my wife on world wide TV to be repeated and amplified by world wide media a million times, I minimally would NEVER have spoken to Trump again much less support him. NEVER! The humiliation she must have went through was just off the charts. And, as high schoolish as it sounds, “Trump fired the first insult re Cruz’s wife”.
I’m glad he won but he definitely bears some responsibility for this whole matter, as does Cruz.
Now, here we are and we need all the good CONSERVATIVE Senators we can get and I think, as do many, that Cruz is # 1 in the U.S. Senate.
He’s obviously rationalized in his mind what happened and is moving on................as should ALL we conservatives.
We were in the biggest war to the death in my lifetime leading up to November 8th, 2016.
We aren’t facing anything near as dire now.
I work with allies. Ted chose not to be one.
Now he’s up for re-election. He has about a year to rehab his image after last year.
The man who refused to be our ally, now wants desperately for us to be his.
I’m not buying into this re-election efforts.
You see, Ted has always had a big mouth. When it came to voting, he was not always there.
Hey, he was against TPP. Then he voted for support legislation, the TPA.
He only lofted the idea of increasing H1-B visas to 500% of it’s current level, as a poison pill. Two years later it was still on his web site. He had to expunge it when someone noticed.
He is not the brilliant person folks think of him as being. He won 2 of 7 cases before the SCOTUS. That means that 5 out of 7 times, someone smarter beat him. If we’re going address smarts when he wins, we have to address smarts when he loses.
Ted voted for Corker with every Democrat. He described this as outsmarting the Democrats.
At some point, you have to accept that Ted is not the sharpest pencil in the box.
Last year was it for me.
He should make as many public comments as he made last year. That should serve him very well, since it’s how he addressed he most important election in my lifetime.
All fair points. I can’t dispute any of them. My take on Ted Cruz is that he flies whatever direction will gain him more power and fame and right now supporting Trump is the ticket for that.
Again, as long as he’s doing good work I’ll support him just as I’ll support any other GOP member who’s working in our interests. However as you’ve indicated a wait and see attitude about Ted is a good idea.
Cruz insulted Melania as well. Oops, you forgot.
Magnanimous? Hardly doing anything for about 100 days?
Your historical rewrites don’t pass muster.
He endorsed on September 23rd, when hardly anyone noticed. He thing put up something on his Facebook page. At that point nobody was gliding by. Some folks think that was as powerful as an endorsement with millions of people watching in prime-time.
As for campaigning for Trump, he spent one hour on the phones in September and one day at rallies on November 5th.
Three days before the election he refused to say the word Trump at one of three rallies.
This is what you refer to as looking for the greater interest of the country.
If we all did what Ted did last year, Hillary would be president.
Do you realize how juvenile that was?
Ah no... you don’t.
I know what you mean. I appreciate the comments.
As long as folks want to practice avoidance, I’ll be here to remind them of what took place.
HOORAY Ted Cruz
Are you aware that one of the PACs supporting Ted published political adds with a photo from Melania’s photo shoot in them, just prior to Trump leveling his comments about Ted’s wife?
The caption was something to the effect, “This could be your next First Lady.” It was a very revealing shot, although it didn’t show anything deemed ‘private area’.
So it was okay for the Cruz side to bring a wife into it, but it was really insulting if Trump did so.
Yeah, well, I’m not buying all the venom from the Cruz camp. What goes around comes around.
I guess Trump would have been more advised to publish a scantily clad picture of Cruz’s wife. That would have been better I guess. LOL
Not buying the feigned indignation of Ted now, and didn’t then.
Not to be argumentative, but I don’t urge a wait and see period. We’ve seen. No need to wait.
I appreciate your nice response, but I did want to be clear about what I proposed.
Take care.
.
You have a severe aversion to the truth.
And a hatred for America’s finest patriotic leader.
Can’t imagine where you’re coming from and probably wouldn’t want to know anyway.
You’re evil ans vicious.
