Fox News Channels Alan Colmes has passed away at age 66 after a brief illness.
Colmes leaves behind his wife, Jocelyn Crowley, who issued the following statement:
Alan Colmes passed away this morning after a brief illness. He was 66-years-old. He leaves his adoring and devoted wife, Jocelyn Elise Crowley. He was a great guy, brilliant, hysterical, and moral. He was fiercely loyal, and the only thing he loved more than his work was his life with Jocelyn. He will be missed. The family has asked for privacy during this very difficult time.Bill Hemmer announced the sad news this morning on Americas Newsroom, which then aired a tribute package from Fox News Channel host Sean Hannity, his former co-host on Hannity & Colmes.

Sean is on the phone about Alan Colmes right now, on his show (someone else is hosting) from CPAC.
Good stuff, listen in.
A person who is alive in Christ will never be repelled by His Word.
I happily suffer the arrows of Satan for proclaiming the Word of the Savior.
This is a beautiful tribute from Hannity. I have tears.
Yep, if only more liberals were like him. RIP.
Only to one who does not know Christ.
Amen, brother.
Sean telling how hard they argued politically and how hard they worked together after the show to make each next day a better one. They were very close.
“He had a human side, he believed everything he said, but he had the ability to turn it off.”
“Deeply believed in free speech even if he didn’t agree.”
“Hated when colleges shut out conservatives.”
Sean sounds broken up. Very nice eulogizing.
I wonder why they’re not saying why he died.
RIP, 66 is way too young.
We pray to the same God. I pray continuously for all Jewish believers to come to the knowledge of Jesus as Messiah.
Sean is saying Alan came in to do his radio show when he was very, very sick. He loved every moment he was on the air.
That’s all you can do, and thank God for His armor! Where would we be without the breastplate and the sword of truth!
I do not deliberately throw pearls before swine. Nothing I could say will be received by you in the spirit in which it is given.
Praying for salvation is not a satanic act. Jesus never told us to stop praying for the lost.
Good observation. I didn't particularly like him because he was wrong on just about everything, but he at least was decent and civil and rarely if ever went the ad-hominem route, so I could tolerate him.
A believer would remember the admonition of Matthew 7 verses one through three
That's pretty much standard for these announcements: "after a brief illness," "after a long illness." No need to get conspiratorial. Wikipedia says he died of lymphoma.
Colmes got attacked by fellow liberals who said he was just a "straw man" set up to make Hannity look good. I notice that he came up through radio broadcasting. Nowadays, most talking heads come from politics or political consulting. They have a much more pointed sense of what the "party line" is and how closely and ferociously they have to stick to it. Colmes was more independent and less narrowly partisan than today's liberal mouthpieces.
FWIW, One site says he really got started doing stand-up comedy. Hard to believe.
Sorry to hear this. One of the few liberals who could actually hold a conversation. I disagreed with most of what he said (Kelo being a notable exception), but he was one who disagreed honorably and civilly.
RIP, Alan.
In 1998 Alan Colmes did a beautiful interview with Gene Shepherd (decades famous late night radio personality at WOR New York for many years.)Gene’s claim to fame was writing
“A Christmas Story” and he also adapted it to the film version we all love and also did most of the background dialog.

Perhaps the only liberal I didn’t detest.
