Small price to pay to get the problem under control, he says of amnesty for hundreds of thousands of young illegals, via the Daily Rushbo. Am I awake?
I kid. This shouldnt be shocking if youre a pragmatist, not a polemicist. Point one: Trump has been hinting at amnestizing DREAMers for months. Usually that takes the form of gooey pronouncements about having a big heart and how great people that are here that have done a good job should be far less worried about deportation than criminals. Lately, though, the White House has showed its hand more clearly by declining to suspend Obamas DACA program for DREAMers as part of its executive overhaul of immigration policy. All Rush is doing here is getting in line with a Republican president he already spends much of his time defending.
Point two: An immigration deal with Democrats that would trade serious enforcement upgrades for amnesty for DREAMers does make a lot of sense. If Trump needs to horse-trade with Democrats to get 60 votes in the Senate for more Border Patrol, more sophisticated means of tracking immigrants internally, and so forth, legalization for Americas most sympathetic class of illegals is an obvious possible concession, especially since Obamas already granted them

a DHS spokesman confirmed it yesterday. it’s reality.
it’s not undoable, of course. I think he’ll come back and fix it, but I think it was a mistake to leave this egregious act of the obama administration unresolved.
I agree. All illegals should be deported. No groups should be allowed to be above the law. Many of the “dreamers” are not even kids, but adult gang members. Then the next step will be “but they need their parents/cousins/other relatives.
I’m not satisfied with the first part of the policy; the focus on illegals that have committed crimes is still pretty poor policy.
an illegal that has to first commit a crime before he draws ICEs attention has more than likely already hurt someone. Im sure we all remember what trump said when he announced; that theyre bringing rapist and murderers.
so, were talking about being okay with a rape or murder being the prerequisite for an illegal being deported. that really is the implication here.
thats totally not what we heard early on.
I’d like to hear the whole transcript in relation to that one sentence.
I think you’re trying to say, you support profits and cheap prices regardless of consequences.
But not surprising coming from Limbaugh.
I have to hear the statement or read it for myself. It’s everyone’s interpretation of what they are saying. To me, all they’ve really said is, we have a list of priorities and this is not one of the priorities. In these orders DACA and DAPA are not among the priorities. That’s as far as I’ve heard anyone in the administration go. Everyone else is interpreting beyond that
Paying foreign nationals to repair your roof was a criminal act. You are abetting crime. I hope your roof caves in on you.
Enforce existing law. Period.
So when the parents are sent to Mexico will you raise their children? Can you post your name and phone number so ICE can get a hold of you?
I’m with Rush on this. I backed Trump from Day One first and foremost because of the illegal immigration issue, and I’ve been doing whatever I could against amnesty since the 2007 Bush debacle. In an ideal world, even DREAMers would be deported.
But, the main rationale against amnesty IMHO is not rewarding people who willfully violated our laws. The DREAMers did not willfully violate our laws.
On top of that, it’s a small price to pay for solving a problem that has festered for going on 40 years. The number one priority is to end illegal immigration. Some losses will have to be taken somewhere in order to do that, and the DREAMers are as good a place as any to take that loss.
Deport every one of them. Should a bank robber’s infant kid be able to keep the loot?
you aren’t ending illegal immigration. quite the opposite, in fact. you’re tolerating particular kinds of illegal immigration.
The President never said he is going to ‘amnestize’ the lot of them.
He said that a ‘hard look’ needs to be taken, that SOME of them are great people brought here through no fault of their own, etc.
That clearly indicates the President will be making decisions on a case-by-case basis.
LOL, to me that statement reminds me of talking to my teenager. ie, I don’t want to argue about this right now but “in your dreams.”
No, if the border is sealed, deportation orders are carried out, visas are checked at entry and exit, fake social security numbers are followed up on, E-verify implemented, and sanctuaries closed down, then illegal immigration will have ended. The fact that 5% of the former illegal immigrants now have visas would not change that.
All caps is YELLING, and I ignore YELLING. It indicates unchecked emotion and I refuse to debate emotional fools. Have a wonderful evening.
