A special election to fill the District 10 state Senate seat, vacated by Bethany Hall-Long, now Lt. Governor, has drawn not just national attention, but national funding as well.
It is an unprecedented amount---perhaps nearly 10 times as much as what is traditionally spent on a local state Senate seat race. Observers said it would appear to be the Democratic Party pushing to maintain one of its final bastions of control in a state, following what many in the party feel was a shocking loss nationwide during the presidential election.

Loads of attention from liberals seems to netted them 2 percentage points from Trump’s 57% win in the district. Big whoop.
What a Fool Believes are stupid headlines like that by the NYT ... I Keep Forgettin’ why we even care what that rag prints. But good to hear that, after Takin’ It To the Streets, he won by a solid 10%. Just remember, Yah Mo B There, Senator McDonald.
McDonald is our fellow who lost in the heavily rat district. The GOP winner in district 32 is named Berthel.
Do’h! All of those Doobie Brothers/Michael McDonald-song jokes wasted. Alas, I don’t have anything clever to say about someone named Berthel.
