What I like to do at some times like these is this:

I use the Chrome browser, which may or may not make a difference.

Anyway - Google your article. See if there's a "cached version" (a small drop-down caret/arrow near end of the URL).

If there is, left-click the down-arrow, and you'll see the word "Cached".

Click on it, and you'll go to the cached version of the article.

There are three flavors: Full version - text-only version - view source

If you move quickly and left-click the "text-only version", you'll get the article without the garbage.

It takes a little practice. 😀
