John McCain is criticizing President Donald Trump's immigration ban, statements on torture, and attacks on the press while also pledging to investigate any possible ties the commander-in-chief and his administration may have to Russia and Vladmir Putin.
In an interview with New York Magazine, Senator McCain reveals that after President Trump defeated Hillary Clinton back in November he was fully prepared to back his fellow party member, despite the pair's contentious relationship in the past.
However he quickly found himself at odds with the billionaire businessman.
The 80-year-old war hero saves his harshest words however for Russia and leader Vladmir Putin, and says that their decision to hack the recent election was a greater threat to the United States than any recent terror attack.
'The severity of this issue, the gravity of it, is so consequential because if you succeed in corrupting an election, then youve destroyed the foundation of democracy,' says McCain of the hacking.
'So I view it with the utmost seriousness. I view it more seriously than a physical attack. I view it more seriously than Orlando, or San Bernardino.'
He then added: 'As tragic as that was, the far-reaching consequences of an election hack are certainly far in excess of a single terrorist attack.'
Senator McCain later explains that this is why the United States must confront Russia, and why the Senate must put together a bipartisan select committee to probe President Trump's possible involvement with any members of the foreign government or their leader.

McQueeg was NEVER of “sound mind”; not ever!
Right. He’s always been crazy, but he’s off the deep end now.
F'n up and getting shot down makes him a hero. I'm so tired of bolstering him up because he served in the military. So did many millions who go home and put their service in the past.
...Senator Bluto is on a roll.
He will attempt to put a dagger in Trumps back whenever he has the right opportunity.
McCain is senile.
Trump should say we will attack Russia if it’s proven they “hacked” the election. Then call McCain a damned liar and tell him to put up or shut up and die. And I’m sick if that shirker being called a hero.
To: Arizona GOP Primary Voters - WHY OH WHY OH WHY DID YOU DO THIS TO US?!?!?!
So Juan McCain thinks that hacking emails is more horrific than being slaughtered in a night club or office Christmas party by jihadist scum? Seriously what kind of drug is that old bag smoking
Let him duke it out with Putin. I’d pay to watch.
Perhaps instead of hiring a psychiatrist for the White House, Congress should hire one for the Senate—McCain can be the first client ;(
John McCain is insane. He should be removed from office. Even his lifelong soul brother, Senator Lindsey Graham wants nothing to do with him. Sadly, Senator, McCain needs and requires both mental & medical health care, immediately.
Another good reason for term limits!!! When I look at all those over-the-hill, aging Republican & Democrat useless Senator and House members...I am terrified by the amount of them that are weak brained, and should be retired!!! McCain must be dealt with by the Republican Leaders McConnell & Ryan!!! McCain is not hurting POTUS, Trump...he is hurting the people & citizens of the United States of America!!! He must be thrown out of office!!!
I think he is a very nefarious person who is bought and paid for by somebody important. somebody we would detest.
Senator McSmug - always has his know-it-all, arrogant, self-absorbed attitude on full display.
LOL!
God I’m so sick of hearing about Russia this and Russia that. Give it a rest senile old man!McCain is really out to get Trump, first we hear ir was him who handed over that fake dossier, now he’s going overseas criticizing his president to the world and STILL trying to make a connection with the whole made up Russian thing. He’s a thorn in our side. It’s amazing he got re-elected.
John McCain has been senile for many, many years.
The shame accrues to those who voted for him.
>The shame accrues to those who voted for him.
The Dems crossed over to vote for him in the primaries.
I voted for the two a-holes Republicans nominated to go against Obama because Obama was the worst thing this country’s ever seen. McCain didn’t even fight. Romney wasn’t willing to do battle and faded.
Trump’s the only guy with ball enough to battle the Democrats. It’s amazing what Trump has exposed since announcing.
1. The absolute corruption of the MSM (we knew this for the most part already, but it’s gotten far worse and obvious).
2. That the RINOs would rather be the (dis)loyal opposition with a Democrat like Hillary in charge than back Trump.
Now that he’s won where’s the plan to revoke Obamacare? They had five or six votes on that BEFORE they took power. They’re frauds.
The NeverTrumps also exposed themselves as willing to let Hillary G-damn Clinton have 3 or 4 SOCUTS picks just because their guy lost.
Politicians like McCain are just like showbiz folks who don’t know when to hang it up. I’m going to start calling him Charo.
