Irish-American designer Paul Costelloe said he thinks US President Donald Trump’s wife, Melania, is “probably the most glamorous since Jackie Kennedy.” He is sure that the 46-year-old Slovene American, who was once a Sports Illustrated Swimsuit supermodel will definitely influence the world of fashion as she takes on her role as first lady.
“She will set trends as First Lady. She likes strong colours that work well," Costelloe told the Irish Independent.
Since she got the spotlight as the new FLOTUS, she hasn't put a foot wrong according to Costelloe. Melania stepped into her husband’s inauguration last month in a sky blue Ralph Lauren. She wore a high-necked sheath and matching bolero in same colour, which seems to channel former FLOTUS Jacqueline Kennedy’s outfit for her husband's, Former US President John Kennedy, 1961 inauguration.
Costelloe has nothing but praises for Melania’s inauguration dress, saying he liked its colour. He thought the first lady looked comfortable in her Ralph Lauren number.
Irish Independent reported that Melania chose an exclusive design from Karl Lagerfeld for her first press conference in the White House. Lagerfeld is the creative director at both Chanel and Fendi.
Costelloe, one of the most established names in British and Irish fashion, said he thinks the FLOTUS definitely has her own individual style. Costelloe believes that among her assets are her good posture, as well as her confidence and ability to showcase a good outfit. “She was a model so she has good posture. She's certainly Donald's trophy wife, and she behaves accordingly,” she maintained.
Even Tommy Hilfiger would feel proud to dress the first lady and thinks her outfit has little to do with politics. "I think Melania is a very beautiful woman and I think any designer should be proud to dress her," he said.

And she's an immigrant, too. Lovely. Wanted to be here, wanted to be "an American" (as far as I can determine). The sort of people we may very well want as immigrants...though they need not be as beautiful as Melania, of course. That's a difficult act to follow....

True; it doesn’t have that big red black widow looking spider against a black background that makes everyone say “whaaaa” or a muscled body that just screams ‘male’.
That and it’s hard to make someone with a size 14 shoe look glamorous or dainty although there were a couple of Hobbits in the Shire that seemed to be able to pull it off somewhat.
Yes, Melania is glamorous, classy, and sweet all at the same time. The Donald chose well. Barron comes from good genes. It should be interesting to see how he and Ivanka’s kids do in life. I probably won’t be around to see it when they fully bloom like Ivanka and Melania are right now. Having the luxury of money is great and all but as most of us know; there are a lot of really miserable rich people out there. Being well adjusted with a decent disposition is a noble goal to strive for.

Jackie had a good sense of style, but Melania is far and away more beautiful and poised, and her “style” is better than any other’s style.
Jackie had an odd kind of beauty. It was her style and grace that most people remember. Melania is heart-stoppingly beautiful and classy.
