In 49 B.C., Julius Caesar, governor of Gaul, and his legion forded the Rubicon, the dividing line between Gaul and Italy, and marched on Rome, thus declaring civil war.
Rome was the last of the free cities that had existed throughout the Mediterranean. They had vanished and finally only Rome, a republic, remained. Her people were free citizens of the republic, not subjects of a single ruler. The Roman Republic of a thousand years ended with Caesars invasion and the Roman Empire and rule of emperors actually dictators began.
The founders of our republic drew in part from the republican pillars of Rome as well as those of Athens and also from the Magna Carta in forming our country. They recognized the critical necessity of these and other imperatives to the construction and continuance of a democratic republic.
Donald Trump has crossed the Rubicon and has declared war on the republic of the United States. His goal is singular: disassemble our republic and remake it to his desire.

“His lack of understanding of domestic and international economic and political matters is mind-boggling.”
He could have written that about Obama in February,2009-———but I’ll bet that he didn’t.
.
Good, now that you have identified yourself as my enemy, Alan, I must remember to squeeze. Not jerk.
Thank You for posting that picture...
I was doing good during the rally, upbeat, couldn’t have been prouder of our President, still a great President in my book, but this constant beating of the drums is getting hard, but then I look at our President and by darn if he isn’t bothered by it, then neither am I!!!
Thank you Laz...do one for me also!!!
From reading your past comments, you don’t appear to be a troll. You might want to add a comment when posting such drivel, for example that the purpose is to know the enemy or the like.
Expect you’ll catch some heat on this thread.
"His goal is singular: disassemble our republic and remake it to his desire."
His goal is to: singular: disassemble reestablish our the former Republic and reestablish it to his desire the Founding Fathers ideals.
I’m OFF BASE??? If you read what I wrote in my Ping post, you would understand...but then to you could also agree with this article couldn’t you???
Trump is the duly elected President of the United States.
The Concord Monitor may not like it, but it is a fact.
Election day came and went, and Donald Trump won more than enough electoral votes to be sworn in as President, and he was.
You (the Concord Monitor) can either choose to abide by this, or you can become a direct threat to this nation.
Trump is busy doing what he promised and was elected to do.
GET OVER IT!
You are seeking to overthrow the elected President of the United States, and you still think he is the problem.
Good grief you folks are thick!
I did, in my ping post, you didn’t read it?
AMEN!!!
That’s what burns my rear over this tripe coming from the left.
We’ve had an obvious Muslim usurper for 8 years with an Iranian born political advisor and the real estate mogul is the supposed domestic enemy. Please.
That point made, I am absolutely, positively and without any sense of mercy or empathy enjoying greatly these daily -- if not hourly -- ravings of Leftists such as Cody-boy who hate our Republic and who despise, as Kurt Schlichter has so accurately identified, us "normals". Keep it up, ladies. It is most entertaining!
As I said to a liberal the other night. It’s a shame the little boys on the left said that about every Republican from Barry Goldwater to Donald Trump. How will we know if the big bad wolf really does show up?
There is a sickness in the land.
No other way to put it.

Yup. But many will miss it. Should be included as comment #1 via the posting mechanism. Just some FRiendly advice.
Like I said, don’t think you are a troll, but you are getting and will get some flames.
Thanks for the post. I want to see what is being said.
Let these folks go on the record and deal with the aftermath.
I can take it...been in worse situations than this in my life...wait until you have to fight to live in real life and then get back to me...
The only reason this scum is invoking the Rubicon is because Caesar was ultimately assassinated. Very thinly veiled treason here.
By the time Caesar got there, Rome was a republic in name only.
