Sen. Rand Paul seemed thoroughly impressed with the Trump administrations first thirty days during his appearance on ABCs This Week. When asked about the Presidents performance the Senator had this to say:

The bible does have an example of God addressing hypothetical situations. (David wanted to know if an enemy in another place would kill him. God said yes. The meeting never happened.)
A fair synthesis of the factors might actually give us something we could put into words, but wouldn’t make either classic Arminians or classic Calvinists entirely happy.
... and dogged scientists might talk about it in terms like collapsing wave functions, but truly the only grip on this that is entirely knowledgeable is God’s only. The secret things belong unto the Lord alone forever.
And I suppose I could quibble that what you put as free will, ought to be something more like free moral agent. What we can do is still contingent on factors outside our control. Rand Paul is one of the most intelligent people in our government. I believe he thinks for himself and is not susceptible to being corrupted and he is courageous. He will fight for what he believes is best for this country. His book, GOVERNMENT BULLIES, will open your eyes to the damage the Environmental Protection Agency has done to America and Americans through rulings that never were approved in Congress. It is a disgrace that such things have been allowed to fester in our government for so long.
No he did not kill the sailors on the Forrestal. Totally fake news.

I've had my own issues with Rand Paul's statements in the past, especially his waffling on immigration, but I still hold him in higher regard than I do most of our Senators (granted, that isn't saying much).
I'm glad that he's starting to realize that whatever his disagreements with President Trump, those pale in comparison to those with the McCain-Graham wing of the party.
I’m new to the site but I love it!
