The Associated Press released a story on Friday claiming the Trump administration considered a proposal to round up illegal immigrants using as many as 100,000 National Guard troops. Now sources are saying perhaps several different versions of this memo were drafted up to smoke out the leaker.

I think Flynn might have had a conflict of interest after it was discovered that the NSA illegally tapped his phone and then leaked it to the press.
Now that he is no longer the head of the NSA, he can sue the NSA and the federal government for invasion of privacy. He can also sue the newspapers and media that printed it.
Maybe that’s the reason he resigned.

I worked at a place that had a leaker and they used “kerning” to discover who. The memos were identical but numbered and the leaker would cut off the numbers. So the PI changed the space between some of the letters a little tiny bit and when the confidential memo was published, its was identifiable.

There will be a "no next time" under President Trump. The leaker will be taken care of and will not be kept around to leak again.
Erroneous data should be shoveled out ever so often to people that you do not trust just to see if it will make it out. This is done all the time.
Hell, I did it just working in corporate America and I am sure President Trump knows how to play the game and is a master at it.
That's sufficient penalty in peacetime. During wartime, which we're currently in and have been since 9/11, the proper penalty would be death by firing squad.
There is no need to set the leaker up for future firing. Once his identity is suspected, he only needs to be transferred to duties where he cannot do harm so that a full investigation can be done.
The investigation should uncover enough evidence to arrest the person(s) for espionage.

They manufactured evidence that the main invasion force was to be in the Pas-de-Calais, and that the Normandy force was a ruse and a diversion. Throughout, double agents and coded messaged mixed lies with some bit of truth.
The Germans were thrown into chaos, because they found out they could not trust any of their "sources" after D-Day.

Obama knew that SIGINT intercepts cut both ways. He and the Democrats are guilty 49 ways to Sunday, and they know it. Money laundering, treason, conspiracy, and yes, even murder.
