AUSTIN - Put the NBA on the growing list of sports organizations warning Texas over its proposed transgender bathroom bill.
In a statement to the Houston Chronicle last week, Spokesman Mike Bass said the NBA weighs a number of factors before choosing where to hold major events, including how fans and athletes will be treated.
"We consider a wide range of factors when making decisions about host locations for league-wide events like the All-Star Game foremost among them is ensuring the environment where those who participate and attend are treated fairly and equally," Bass said.
The NBA has come out against anti-LGBT bills in the past, moving Sunday's NBA All-Star Game from Charlotte to New Orleans after lawmakers in North Carolina passed their own version of the transgender bathroom bill into law. Texas isn't scheduled to host any major NBA events in the near future, but Dallas Mavericks owner Mark Cuban supported the decision to move the All-Star game and even offered up the Big D as an alternative. . .

I have to say there is one area the man should be allowed in the women’s restroom. The trannies will get the hell beat out of them in the men’s room and they’d love to be there because they’re looking for what’s in there.
Let ‘em use the ladies room. Most women wouldn’t know they’re men and the women will not be in any danger.
Now, as for Jerry Jones, that weasel will be the first to cave.
NFL and NBA tax exempt? Maybe time the owners start paying taxes like the rest of us?
.
The NBA and the NFL are sports teams. They should remember that and stop delving into homosexual issues. It will only lose them fans.
“Time to start up the AFL again.”
Good idea. How about an NNBA (Normal National Basketball Association)?
The bottom-line problem is that, even if there may be no real danger from the "true trannies", there's no way to know if they are what they say they are.
By allowing this, any man could dress like a woman, claim to identify as a woman, and stroll into the women's bathroom. Even if I were willing to stipulate that there may be no danger from a "tranny", that doesn't hold true for the counterfeits ...
Well...this Texan IS spitting mad.
I love sports, although they have been going done hill and very disappointing lately. Not in performance...but in morality of the players.
I have enjoyed watching the rooky cboys this year. I have watched the Mavs for many years.
But..if the state allows sports franchises to dictate policy I’ll have a major fit. I don’t think Abbot will do that.
This Texan is of the opinion that Texas can do just fine without the NBA and the NFL, but that those 2 thug-employing organizations would take a rather large hit without Texas.
We’ve got tens of billions of barrels of oil as a backup plan - what do you guys have, HMMMMMM???
Stay out of our policies, and JUST PLAY YOUR GAMES...or else.
Not married? No female children? No mother?
Texas needs to them to shut up about our polices.
[[So basically, the NBA and NFL insist that adult men can go into the bathroom with little girls....maybe Sessions should start looking into these people.]]
Not just that, but to take showers with them and to use the same dressing rooms as them- They are promoting sexual deviancy- and succeeding in makign it appear as if it’s the ‘moral thing to do’ because some mentally sick tranny might have their precious feelings hurt because they have to use the bathroom that aligns with their birth certificate’s gender identity
Dumb and Dumber just joined ranks.
I have to agree with your assessment.
This has been going on for years...unbeknownst to any one.
OPEN UP ALL BATHROOMS at nba and nfl games, I DARE you
And let’s see how many fans STAY HOME
I think the Boy Scouts already caved.
Since the moral wars are everywhere now from bathrooms to businesses, conservatives and conservative states need to elevate the pain levels. When the NFL, the NBA or whoever makes these threats, a powerful state like Texas needs to decide how to hurt the leagues or team owners economically both within and outside the state. Also, if there are other matters pending before the state of importance to the league or certain owners, they should linked in any such war.
Sounds like it’s time for an investigation of the influence of organized crime on basketball and football.
Darn - cannot boycott what I don’t watch
Set up a Port-a-Can at the games labeled “IT” and be done with it.
Texas should warn them
