AUSTIN - Put the NBA on the growing list of sports organizations warning Texas over its proposed transgender bathroom bill.
In a statement to the Houston Chronicle last week, Spokesman Mike Bass said the NBA weighs a number of factors before choosing where to hold major events, including how fans and athletes will be treated.
"We consider a wide range of factors when making decisions about host locations for league-wide events like the All-Star Game foremost among them is ensuring the environment where those who participate and attend are treated fairly and equally," Bass said.
The NBA has come out against anti-LGBT bills in the past, moving Sunday's NBA All-Star Game from Charlotte to New Orleans after lawmakers in North Carolina passed their own version of the transgender bathroom bill into law. Texas isn't scheduled to host any major NBA events in the near future, but Dallas Mavericks owner Mark Cuban supported the decision to move the All-Star game and even offered up the Big D as an alternative. . .

Yea, I bet those players really want to play more games in states like CA and NY that charge them state tax for each game they play there than TX that has no income tax.
"Corporate society takes care of everything. And all it asks of anyone, all it has ever asked of anyone ever, is not to interfere with management decisions."
For NFL and NBA to start dictating a state’s bathroom policy is absurd.
“Why do the NBA and NFL bosses want men in womens bathrooms and locker rooms? Dont they have wives and sisters? Are they okay with this?”
Those bosses have been infected with the rainbow virus. Too late to appeal to their once traditional family values.
[ “Now we have the majors and their executives. Transport, food, communication, housing, luxury, energy. A few of us making decisions on a global basis for the common good. ]
Once in awhile, I mention Robert Foxworth’s statement to the board of Thorn Industries in “Omen II”. I assume your quote is from that football movie; I’ve never seen it (North Dallas Forty?). But your post reminded me of O2.
It would have no effect on their wives or sisters or daughters because, if they are in attendance, they are up in the VIP/Stratosphere boxes and don't have to mix with the hoi polloi.
The same way that Congress could require everyone to buy into Obamacare, but exempted themselves and their families.

They're so arrogant that they never even considered that.
To all business oriented Republicans: No more subsidies for sports teams. We are in a cultural war with too many of their owners.
“Rollerball” - the corporations are now in charge of the world.
Something about messing with Texas.....???
Hey Texans, if you folks aren’t spitting mad, then I don’t know what to say. Time for a new league, new sports...
I hate to say it but tis a fact that there is too much (L)N in NBA and NFL.
What strikes me is the disturbing silence by the wives of the players and coaches, and ticket buyers who are also parents. Not to mention the male and female talkingheads who have plenty to say about everything else.
Does no one understand or care what this could mean for posterity?
This is an outrage and has no place in civilized society.
Does anyone in Texas give a flip if any NFL or NBA spoiled millionaire ballplayer uses the boys or girls toilet in the stadium team locker room when they play ?

They will not kill the goose that lays the golden eggs of cash. Bank on it (pun intended). The world is rapidly dividing.
Luke 12:51-53 King James Version (KJV)
51 Suppose ye that I am come to give peace on earth? I tell you, Nay; but rather division:
52 For from henceforth there shall be five in one house divided, three against two, and two against three.
53 The father shall be divided against the son, and the son against the father; the mother against the daughter, and the daughter against the mother; the mother in law against her daughter in law, and the daughter in law against her mother in law.
