Morning Joe‘s coverage of President Trump’s press conference of yesterday was predictably apocalyptic. Joe Scarborough and Mike Barnicle asserted that Trump was detached from “reality.”
But the most explosive moment came when Scarborough asked who within the White House will go to President Trump and tell him that he’s undercutting his credibility. When Mark Halperin proposed VP Pence for that job, Mika Brzezinski replied: “it’s not happening. He’s waiting to be President.” Was Mika implying that Pence has adopted a conscious strategy of letting President Trump implode so that he can assume the presidency when Trump is driven from office?

IMO Trump needed Pence (insider) to win. Trump is the first outsider to win (lately at least). Tough to win if both are outsiders, probably impossible.
With that being said, Pence will evolve into a great VP. His loyalty will soon shift to the people from his GOP club. It’s a process. He’s a good man in a dirty town.

Most people don’t understand how corrupt DC really is. You get it.
Think of the perhaps thousands of husbands, wives, sons, daughters, etc who have begged House Oversight to investigate the deaths of their family members. No response from Jason Chaffetz. Zero. Hillary list alone is 100+, and some incidents involved full airplanes. Chaffetz doesn’t stand up to other gov’t agencies. All he does is smile and talk. Because they have all been compromised. But for the first time in history, we have a President who wants to drain the swamp.
Families have reached out to President Trump. Lots.
We have to give VP Pence a chance to be on the good side of history. Yes we have concerns. But we must support him. To drain the swamp, we need him on the team.
BTW, hardcore nevertrumpers are now working with the dems in an effort to impeach Trump so they can have Pence. Never trust a nevertrumper.
I don’t know if Pence is loyal or not (although I have no reason to doubt it).
However, Donald cannot drain the swamp by himself, because he does not know where the swamp creatures hide out and he also does not know the full range of disguises they use.
Relying on only one experienced politician in the Washington cesspool is foolish.

Does Mika have some inside source who reveals the private contacts between the President and Vice President to her? Then how does she conclude that this is the case?
