A number of news outlets claim the near collapse of the Oroville dam's emergency spillway in California is a glimpse of what man-made global warming could bring.
"Oroville Is a Warning for California Dams, as Climate Change Adds Stress," the New York Times reported. "Broken California Dam Is a Sign of Emergencies to Come," reads an article published in Scientific American, adding that "[c]limate change is leading to more extreme rainfalls that can overwhelm infrastructure."

Climate scientists called the storm that hit California not long ago as a “100 year” event. Why? Because, for a number of thousands of years California has had such a storm about every 100 years. That takes the cycle of such storms in California back eons ago, and far, far before any human “intervention”.
Its raining as hard as I have ever seen it rain in California right now - we could be really screwed. Windows are starting to leak WTF. If they are getting rain up in Nor Cal like we getting in Socal that Dam is probably gone
