Perhaps it's time to refresh our entrenched intelligence agencies with fresh blood and rebuild it from scratch?
Perhaps there can be a synergy to rebuilding our military and intelligence capabilities simultaneously?

Longer than that. Harry Truman wrote an Editorial in December 1963 regarding the CIA, and how it needed to be changed. I suspect that was related to the November 1963 assassination of President Kennedy.
Don’t forget he fired Allen Dulles, head of the CIA for more than just the Bay of Pigs fiasco. LBJ appointed Dulles to be on the Warren Commission. I don’t recall the news media objecting to a potential suspect being part of the investigation.
