If the cable companies would let people pick the channels they wanted instead of having to get a “package” of them, a whole lot of crap would be gone.
That’s exactly right. The cable and satellite TV business has reached the point where these companies are like a restaurant with 12,000 different items on the menu. Very few of them would sell in sufficient quantity to even justify keeping the ingredients on hand, so the restaurant feels obligated to force them on customers as part of “bundles” (or “daily specials”) just to sell them. The smart restaurant owner would ditch at least 95% of the menu items and simply focus on what has broad appeal to the customers.
