Chairman: House intel panel won’t investigate Flynn, will probe leaks

House Intelligence Committee Chairman Devin Nunes (R-Calif.) says he won’t open an investigation into President Trump’s former national security adviser Michael Flynn, citing executive privilege.

But the committee will investigate who leaked the story that led to Flynn’s resignation and why Trump's national security adviser was being recorded, CNN reported Tuesday.

Flynn resigned late Monday night amid cascading controversy over a discussion he had before Trump took office with a Russian diplomat about President Obama’s sanctions on the country.

The Washington Post first reported details of the conversation, which the New York Times said stemmed from a wire tap of the Russian diplomat.

ADVERTISEMENT Flynn initially denied the conversation took place, and Vice President Mike Pence vouched for him in a nationally televised interview.

But Flynn later said he could not recall whether he’d discussed the sanctions before Trump took office.

Flynn’s conflicting story and Democratic uproar over his remarks to a foreign diplomat, which were not made in any official capacity, ultimately led to his resignation.

Democrats are demanding an investigation into the matter, which ties into their suspicions about the Trump administration’s alleged close ties to Moscow.

If I had a chat with the Russian Ambassador three months ago, I’m pretty sure I could recall details of what was discussed.

Maybe I have a better memory than most.

All calls to Russian mucky mucks are tapped. Doesn’t matter if it’s a call from the nail salon, it’s tapped. Yes, the US spies on Russia just as every country in the world spies on each other and their own selves. Nothing goes on in any government that someone isn’t spying through the keyhole.

This is an open coup de’ Tat on out president and it must be quickly crushed.

You have nailed it, except it is an attempted Coup d’etat that is ongoing. It must be crushed. This report/investigation is a good sign.

why Trump's national security adviser was being recorded, CNN reported Tuesday.

The eavesdropping happened in December, on Obama's watch. I have no doubt that Obama ordered the agencies to spy on Trump's transition team. He needs to be brought down.

He was fired for lying to Mike Pence about it.

Except the evidence for that is very ambiguous. Could easily have been a mild misunderstanding.

I am concerned that Trump is to lethargic on this. Sessions should be convening grand juries on this warrantless wire tap on Flynn. This ia not to be tolerated.

Does the position that Flynn held require Senate confirmation?

The Democrats are all in uproar over this, but not a word when Obama said he did have more freedom after the election. Hypocrites!

Right on. Begin with Barack Hussein O and his shadow government.

B O's shadow government had much help from the GOPe lords and ladies. Those 'neverTrumpers' are not above suspicion.

"Does the position that Flynn held require Senate confirmation?"

Now that you mention it, I don't know. I just assumed it did.

What can we do about this 5th column( the press)? We need a free press but when they have turned into a total propaganda machine against our country what can we do? They have so much power ( much as we like to claim they don’t, they unfortunately still do). How can we legally get this under control. Pull FCC licenses? Is that unrealistic?

I’m glad Trump is having the House investigate the leaks. The way the Democrats set Nixon up for Watergate was to leak until Nixon overreacted, then look for legal issues with Nixon’s leak investigation. Having the House investigate the leaks will help shield Trump from this line of attack.

You are correct. You can't get them all.

But you don't have to get them all.

You get as many as you can. As quickly as you can. As high up as you can.

Then you make it hurt just as hard as you can.

McTurd at the highest level. Would be a real difficult decision if I had to choose between getting rid of Soros or McTurd by sending them in permanent exile to Malawi.

You have to stop this main stream media from bleeding you every morning.

You have to give them something but give them as little as you can and keep the time exposer as low as you can.

Also quit telegraphing your moves.

President Trump has already given the names of those that may replace Flynn to the enemy before Flynn is out the door.

He should have had them re checked and not given the democrats and yellow journalist as much time to dig.

Never apologize or give in to a lynch mob, it never satisfies them.

It always leads to a hanging.
