Is Britain girding for a fight in Russias backyard? For the first time since the Cold War, Britain is sending a warship to the Black Sea on a military mission.
This time, the goal is to send a message to Russia: dont invade Ukraine. The question is whether Russia willor even shouldbother to take the warning seriously.
*snip*
Britains Defense Secretary Michael Fallon told the Daily Mail that the UK is sending a clear message that we are committed to defending democracy across the world and support Ukraines sovereignty, independence and territorial integrity.

Wow, astonishing.
And all of them mean nothing without Trump throwing the US into the fray. Which he won’t :)
Who’s gonna fight them? France? :)
Or maybe Germany will invade again. The 4th Reich
OK, I’ll bite. Why do I need an electrical engineering dictionary?
Paging Lord Churchill. First Lord Churchill, please pick up the house courtesy phone.....
Careful, Russia - they kicked Argentina’s *ss.
Black sea is a terrible place for Britain to take offense, you’re penned in, one way in one way out
very good
“Six guided missile destroyers, 13 frigates, and seven fleet subs and 4 SSBN boomers. “
I read recently that the Brits had retired their anti-ship missiles without replacement. It’s a socialism problem. You can have socialism or you can have an effective military. Or, you can have Soviet socialism and an effective military. It looks like they have combined the worst two, Soviet socialism and an ineffective military.
Ahhhh, the Royal Navy...the scourge of the seven seas...
Somebody’s idea of a joke.....
The curse of Joe Lucas...
And then survive in a Russian controlled lake. It would be like the Russians putting there most prized ship in Lake Superior. When it sinks is entirely at our behest.
Putin must be laughing his ass off.
For the geo-strategically ignorant around here, this is what I don't get. Some parts of the world are seriously beyond our reach except with leave of the other side. This is one of them. Maybe we should double down and move the sixth fleet in, too. Maybe a couple of our newest submarines as well. We'll show Putin.
If they are ineffective then it is a waste of everyone's time. If they start to become effective and impact a Russian vital interest, then Putin has already warned us. He will nuke them.
And then what do we do - global nuclear war because we stuck our noses in business that just isn't ours to stick our noses in?

Lame symbolism.
Are they sure they aren’t towing the ships there?
You know, I thought that for years. Certainly nothing Lucas made worked. But it was even more systemic than just the Lucas parts. I think they had infiltrators in their plants, maybe from the Germans, sabotaging everything they made. Think how easy it would be. Five or ten auto workers in the UK getting an extra 1000 pounds a month, cash, from MB?
If a Jag drove, handled and had the dependability of a MB, I would not have bought 6 MB’s in the last 10 years.
Although, my 1988 MB 560SEC is the best designed and manufactured car ever made.
Your they is possible but in plain language, Lucas parts were cheaply made and little was done to test quality due to union interference plus onerous taxes.
Just compare the windings in a Lucas alternator vs. Delco-Remy of the era.
A buddy in the sportscar repair biz had uncovered a Lucas to Delco of England cross reference booklet. Surprisingly, many of the Delco parts could be found in US auto parts stores.
Therein was the solution to starting, charging, etc...
