A September 2016 United Nations panel in Geneva decided the U.S. owed blacks reparations for a history of ‘racial terror.’
Ishaan Tharoor of the Washington Post notes:
In particular, the legacy of colonial history, enslavement, racial subordination and segregation, racial terrorism and racial inequality in the United States remains a serious challenge as there has been no real commitment to reparations and to truth and reconciliation for people of African descent. Contemporary police killings and the trauma that they create are reminiscent of the past racial terror of lynching.
This UN action, of course, was followed by last December’s resolution against Israeli settlements. Interestingly, in the same December time period, the UN could not bring itself to impose sanctions and an arms embargo on a South Sudan that is plunged into ethnic conflict in which thousands have already been killed. It seems the newer, anti-colonial, anti-West members suffer from a case of moral schizophrenia.
A thumbnail review of the real history of slavery is in order here. First, to be clear, there is no doubt many injustices and human tragedies have occurred throughout our history because of slavery; but that is true everywhere slavery has occurred. For a real accounting, thousands of slavery-related transactions that open the curtains on the history of slaves and the slave trade have been recorded and are available on a CDROM prepared by Harvard University. Two other worthy sources include Hugh Thomas’ The Slave Trade and Robin Blackburn’s The Making of New World Slavery.

The Arab world took ten times as many slaves as Europeans did over a much larger time frame period. And they treated them so badly that there is almost no genetic legacy of that group as compared to the “black” populations in North and South America or the evident mixing throughout the Americas.
Slave(s) and every form of the word has been corrupted. IF it is bad and evil to enslave anyone, then why do some keep up the practice? Democrats, liberals, progressives and RINOS practice the art of slavery every time they regulate, tax, and mandate US. All these practices come with the strong arm of government, and will by force take their price.

Nobody can say with a straight face that “black Americans” are owed “reparations” (especially on top of what has been given to them for the past half century); I’ve posted on other threads that the whole point of raising this absurd “issue” is to move the goalposts to make the current, legally-indefensible practices of affirmative action seem reasonable (or at least acceptable). When our government treats certain preferred minorities (blacks, Hispanics, women) as inferior and expects less of them, they end up with blacks, Hispanics, and women that ARE inferior.
At this point, in any interaction with a “preferred minority”, I assume the person is not there by their own merits (and I’m usually right). Let them prove to me they didn’t win a race/gender lottery; they are suspect until they do...
The UN has time to chastise the USA and dictate to us because they have the rest of the world all straightened out now.
No more slavery, no more beheadings, no more Christians being burned alive in cages.
No more young Christian and Jewisjh boys and girls being gang raped by herds of musim animals, no more muslim Rage-Boy mass murders, no more muslims killing Israelis.

Been paid above and beyond for a long time. I’d say working one day a week to pay taxes for several decades so they can have free housing, food, healthcare, etc...an lay around and play video games and get high and/or drunk is more than enough. Especially when they go out and sell drugs at night that make them more money in one night tax free than I can earn in a week. And you wonder why some of them drive those whiney new cars and wear the finest clothes. Don’t tell me this doesn’t happen. I’ve seen it with my own eyes and heard about it from people who had family members that were doing it when I worked in LE.

If you go and read the numbers something like 97% of usa whites never owned slaves at any time.
As I’ve said on almost all these threads; Get the blacks whose American ancestors owned slaves to pay reparations first and then we can talk.
No case for reparations. Despite slavery, today’s descendants of slaves are better off than today’s descendants of the Africans who sold them into slavery.
