Did he retire or get out with less than twenty?

Don’t tell him it’s a replica.

Then again, it might have some racy fold-outs of Stanley Ann Dunham.

0bummer’s an empty, filthy suit and his “family” history is a garbage can stench, so they can pick any starting point they want to make him look greater than good.

“In the beginning...”

Talk about emoluments. I don’t think such gifts are in any way legal.

Don't remember. The chain of command torpedoed him on his NCOER, though.

He was one of those guys that made E8 in 13 years. So obviously, he's a superstar, right?

Typical Army hypocrisy.

You're a star until the slightest, tiniest little slip-up, then you might as well be a full fledged member of ISIS.

You're then treated as a disgrace and a traitor to the nation.

Over a freaking cell phone.

And then again, I met an E8 in the 82d Airborne Crony Never-Have-to-PCS Division with THREE DUIs.

He was still on active duty with no problems.

When I was there you had the the “Airborne Track” which consisted of Fort Bragg-Korea-Fort Bragg...repeat. A similar track existed at Fort Devens as well. The DUI status I can’t speak to except to say some MOS’s were tough to retain on jump status. I knew one First Sergeant who went from E-1 to E-8 in the same company. Since then they have made Fort Bragg into a city and Fort Devens into a wasteland...foolishly in both cases in my opinion.

“How do you set a value for a multivolume family geneology?”

I’m guessing it was written off as a tax deduction, so.....

Yep, to everything you just said.

I've heard stories about guys spending their entire career in the same battalion.

But I PCSd 15 times in my career. It was miserable.

Because of the "Airborne" and "elite" status, Bragg is "protected" from a lot of the BS that happens to the rest of the Army, and it puts a LOT more stress on the rest of the Army.

Which is BS. It's just a light infantry unit.

In all my duty stations, I can count on 1 hand the number of 82d Airborne combat patches I saw. 82d people never leave Bragg and go out into the rest of the Army. It's totally unfair.

Well, I did my whole 21 years in the Army at the same State-side Army post, Fort Hood. It was easy enough to do because half of the people who come to Fort Hood love it and want to stay/come back, and half hate it and can't wait to leave. In fact, in my MOS, I have seen SFCs and MSGs take retirement rather than be assigned to Fort Hood. So there are always assignments open there.

My post assignments were Fort Hood (1st Cav Div), Camp Casey (Korea), Fort Hood (III Corps), Mannheim (Germany), Fort Hood (2nd Armored Div), Camp Casey (Korea), Fort Hood (III Corps), Camp Casey (Korea), and then retired at Fort Hood (III Corps). It was easy to come back to Fort Hood .. all I had to do was to request a return assignment there when I came down on orders to go overseas.
